VelociPrints strives to create engaging art shows that celebrate the beauty of being active. We've celebrated the bicycle through art for our past events, and now we are turning our attention to our other passion: soccer.
VelociPrints: On the Pitch is a collision of soccer and art/design cultures. Held inside Tucson's Borderlands Brewery in the heart of downtown, this event will be an evening full of soccer people like you, quality beer, exclusive yet affordable art, hanging with Tucson's established and emerging artists, and general soccer/art revelry!
At the heart of this show is a series of approximately 10 print designs, each in an edition of 20, created by some of our area's most exciting artists. Because the show is free to attend, and each print costs only $40, every show-goer can afford to take at least one print home, or even outfit an entire house or office. It is our goal to ensure that everyone can afford at least one print, but still be able to pay the artists what they deserve for their hard work, so we must turn to Kickstarter backers to help with production costs.
Each artist is responsible for creating his or her own print, so this Kickstarter Project is designed to help cover all the costs involved in producing the actual show itself. Borealis Arts, FC Tucson, and Borderlands Brewery all believe deeply in this show, and you can join these local businesses in making this show a reality. As you might imagine, the costs to produce, promote, and staff an event like this are rather large. We're hell-bent on making this show happen, and with your help, we can prove that Tucson is a premiere soccer and art community!
Risks and challenges
Every endeavor has risks and challenges, even something as amazing as a soccer art show. Once the show is successfully funded, there will be banners and flyers to make, artists to organize, lights to hang, and of course Kickstarter rewards to produce. "VelociPrints: On the Pitch" is the third such show we've produced, and we think by now that we've got all the bugs worked out of the system. T-shirts and banners are printed locally, picture framing is handled in-house, and the show is held inside of a brewery which means the necessary licenses and permits are already in place. If there are any delays in production of backer rewards, we have back-up suppliers in place, and if any artists have to pull out of the show at the last minute, we have a waiting list of artists ready to call. Should any other problems arise, our studio is right here in Tucson, and you can always reach us at 520-303-7263, or at firstname.lastname@example.org.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
