Video of the production
We're finally entering the final stage. Your handmade frames are ready; many different tubes have been blended together meticulously and with great attention to detail. We want to show you the frame building process, as this craft is truly exquisite and special. We’ve therefore put together a video from our visit to our VELLO-frame manufacturer last week:

We’re working together with some of the few craftsmen who master the art of steel frame building and who we’ve entrusted with our technical drawings. Your VELLO is made from a very strong and light steel (chromoly) and considered the best choice of material for city commuting. Chromoly is known as the most durable frame material and lasts a lifetime, something that doesn’t hold true for aluminum frames. The material also has the characteristic of being elastic enough to smoothen your ride in the city.
A little fun fact about your VELLO: there are 50 component groups on your VELLO from 31 suppliers in 10 different countries.
Here some impressions
We’re still a small team that has been dealing with supply-chain management over the past months, among many of the other activities we need to take care of for a successful start in a very competitive market. We’ve also patented many of our innovations and are now in the process of registering them in various countries. We love what we’re doing, and hope that this energy reflects in the bike that you’ll be getting.
Our learning-by-doing experience getting your VELLOs produced has helped us leapfrog our knowledge in production and in working with suppliers. Thank you very much for having accompanied us along this path!
What are the next steps? We still need to powder coat the frame and we are waiting for a small air cargo carrying some additional parts. As we’re putting the final touches to the bike, we’ll be able to ship them out very soon. Once more, please accept our apologies for the delay.
On a last note: many of you have filled out your shipping information, thank you. For those who have not done so yet, please don’t forget to complete the survey at your earliest convenience; it’ll be easier to have all information in one place when we work with our cargo company.
Our best wishes,
Valerie & Valentin
