Vivid Football will be an American football game with a completely different angle on the gaming experience. We are setting the bar high with a hybrid software/board game, combining on- and off-field football strategy, with hands-on changes that can alter the outcome of the game.
You will become coach and manager of your own football team, where you chose the formations on the board and decide the plays on your device (Tablet or Smartphone), then view the board game alive through the screen with Augmented Reality.
By reading the opponents formations, you will be able to change key players' positions on the board before the snap.
Open pass-patterns between the defensive zones by placing the receiver closer to the tight-end, blitz open holes to sack the Quarterback by placing the linebacker right on top of the A-gap, or block players to run for a winning touchdown by placing the fullback as an extra tight-end.
Take your opponents game plan apart play-by-play, and see it all come alive after the snap.
Between games you, as the manager and coach, will have access to features that will enable you to improve the performance and economy of your team.
Scrimmage-mode will enable you to setup and chose plays for both offense and defense, and practice both offensive and defensive plays. Each play will improve the overall team performance. During scrimmage you will also be able to experiment with different lineups, moving individual players out of there standard positions to create new opportunities – like pieces on a chessboard.
Training and individual workout will enable you to shape and improve the skills of individual players. Improving your Quarterbacks throwing skills, or the Linebackers ability to read the offense after the snap.
As manager you will also have to adjust ticket prices to fill the bleachers, have the choice of naming or renaming your stadium, hire training and coaching staff, and managing the roster (including the possibility of adding your own name to a player).
Finally, you will be able to join and create leagues, tournaments or standalone games to play other owners.
Once you have downloaded the application to the device of your choice (iOS or Android devices only), you just have to registered and then you will have access to your team and a $500K budget to begin writing football history.
WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
The box will contain a playing field (the board), two device-holders (DEVICES ARE NOT INCLUDED), playing figures (offense, defense, and special team players), and a unique registration code for the app.
The board and the figures
The playing field (the board) will be roughly 51" by 24" (130 cm by 60 cm).
The two flexible smartphone/tablet holders clamp to the table and comes in white/silver. They will measure roughly 33" (84 cm) in height.
The game box is going to hold about 30 figures - both offense, defense, and some special team players. The figures are roughly 1" tall (2½ cm) and in retail there will be 10 different team colors to choose from (for starters).
NO STRETCH GOALS
We are not going to introduce any stretch goals during this project. We would rather make you this promise….
If we pass our target goal, we WILL initiate one or more of our planned expansions, already mapped in our Product Development road map. What we cannot promise, is that these planned expansions will be finished within the original project-scope.
The only reason for that is we want to keep our eyes on the ball, rather than risk overextending our resources in an effort to fulfill a new bigger scope - just to fail all-together.

THE REWARDS - ONE BY ONE, IN A NUTSHELL
HOW ARE WE GOING TO BURN ALL THAT MONEY?
We need to raise $700K to do this right. We know that we are asking for more than just pocket-money, and that’s because we are not only making a board game. We are entering into a whole new dimension of gameplay, where we need to ensure quality in both ends of the game. That means an experience on the board that is different then anything before, and a backend system that will leave the user wanting to come back again and again, and continue to play season after season with the same team.
So most of the cost lies in programming. Besides that there is a relatively substantial cost in servers and equipment to secure the operation of the game.
For now, the game will only be available for iOS and Android devices. We expect the following models/operation systems to be the minimum requirement based on the specifications for running ARCore:

SMARTPHONES, IPHONES, IPADS, AND OR OTHER TABLETS ARE NOT PART OF THE GAMEBOX.
We will keep you updated through the entire process, so that you don't get any unpleasant surprises when we deliver the game and/or rewards.
Shipping fees apply to the following reward levels: Full-Backer, Corner-backer, Half-backer.
Shipping will be charged upon purchase/pre-order via our webshop, which will be accessible february/march 2020. All Full-backers, Corner-backers, and Half-backers will receive a link and a discount code which they will use with the pre-order. When the shipping address has been entered, the system will calculate the correct shipping fee.
The following is a list of rough estimates for shipping the Vivid Football game box (Estimated weight: 22 lbs./ 10 kg). The fees are just estimates and may increase based on weight.

Risks and challenges
We have our team, external cooperation partner, the budgets, and timeline in place - so we are confident that we will remain on time, cost and scope all the way. It's important to mention that we expect our game to be done and arrive in Fall 2020.
Creating the backend, sync between the two players units, the on-field AR animations, and the AI from scratch are especially tricky processes, so we want to make sure that we create something that stays true to the vision that we have of the experience that we are trying to create.
We don't anticipate any major challenges, but should the unexpected pop up, we'll be sure to communicate any issues or delays with you right away. But be assured that we will be in close contact with you all the way through the project regardless…
