Dungeon Escape - A classic game of memory with a twist!!!
A card game that plays like the game of memory with a fantasy twist, adding hero cards, equipment, and more. It's kid friendly as well.
Dungeon Escape is essentially a fast paced game of memory for 2-4 players, taking no more than 5-10 minutes per game and perfect for ages 5 to adult.
This game can be played multiple ways. From head to head, group play, and even your basic standard game of memory, removing all of the extras and dice for an even simpler version.
Dungeon Escape is not only a game but a piece of art. Each background is uniquely associated with the theme of the deck it belongs to. The images on the cards are mirrored, so no matter which side of the table a player is on they can easily identify the flipped card. This game boils down to memory, so recognition is key.
Check out these digitally illustrated backgrounds and how they are placed on their respective card. The illustrations are fantasy themed and detailed but you won't find any overly graphic images or blood. Dungeon Escape is family friendly. (prints available as add-ons)
Help have a say in which cards make it into Dungeon Escape. I will be updating this section with new sketches throughout the campaign. Please leave your comments on which of these two armor chest pieces you like the best.

INFO: 2-4 players, 5-10 minutes per game.
HOOK: Portable, fast paced, each card is its own piece of art. It's a remix of a classic.
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW: Dungeon Escape is based on the classic game of memory while adding a fantasy element. Each core set contains three 18 card decks (9 pairs), each with their own theme. The deck themes consist of dungeon, castle, and forest.
You begin the game by shuffling the dungeon deck, and laying the cards out facedown in a 6x3 grid. Each player then selects a random hero card. Players takes turns flipping two cards, trying to match them to each other. If successful they remove the match from the table.
When a player matches a pair of battle cards they may attack an opponent. Battles are simple, each player rolls three dice, adds in their hero cards ability (if applicable), and the highest dice total wins. If the attacker wins they steal a card match from their opponent, if the defender wins they get to keep their card and play resumes.
Check out the gameplay video below to see a playthrough and a more advanced look at the rules.
WIN: The first player to win two games wins overall. However, with this game it is easy to incorporate your own rules for winning. Play ten games in a row or play one, it's up to you.
2-3 PLAYERS: The standard game using all three decks, one at a time in a 6x3 grid.
2-4 PLAYERS: Lay out all 54 cards at once in a large grid, you really have to use your memory skills when that many cards are on the table.
2-4 PLAYERS: Remove all of the Battle, Take Another Turn, and Equipment cards. Arrange the 32 cards left over in 8x4 grid and play a regular game of memory. Take another turn if your find a pair of matches, if not play passes to the next player. Perfect for younger kids.
4 PLAYERS: Use two copies of Dungeon Escape and have two 2 player games going on at once, the winner of those games play each other for the overall winner.
2-4 PLAYERS: When the expansion is released you can play two rounds with 36 cards on the board instead of four rounds of 18 cards. Combine the dungeon deck with the forest deck, then play with the castle deck and the dragon deck. Or any combination you see fit.
The nice thing about Dungeon Escape is you can really tailor it to fir your own house rules, customizing gameplay as you and your friends see fit.

Risks and challenges
Risks should be minimal. I've contacted several manufacturing companies and I know which one I'm going to use.
Half of the artwork is finished and the other half is being worked on at a steady pace, I don't want to rush the artists, I want their best work. :)
I've made a prototype of the game using printed samples on 300 gsm blue core premium cardstock, the quality feels great. I've also taken the boxed prototype to the post office to get more accurate quotes on shipping.
At the end of the day I'm just one guy, but I am a businessman, I work as an accountant for a large company. I will make sure if this campaign is funded you will all receive your rewards. Thank you for pledging and I hope you enjoyed browsing my kickstarter page.
