Here's an interview with Larry from Geek City USA. Larry gives details about each expansion pack, and talks about some of the features, including the tile tower and boxes!

Larry and Mic here. In 2010, we were sitting by a pool playing some kind of a game. It was kind of boring, and we decided we could do better. We agreed from the beginning that it had to be as crazy as possible. Larry cut out a set of tiles, and we looted several games to assemble the pieces. This is where things got out of hand.
Over the next 2 years, we brainstormed every single idea we could think of. We kept improving the tile designs and changing the rules. We ended up with 6 piles of tiles and playing pieces that became expansion packs.
By 2014, Larry had printed and cut 10,000 tiles with a hobby knife. By hand. We custom designed our own meeples and had a company manufacture the first sets of 8 Urbanites and vehicles. But it still wasn’t crazy enough.
We added action cards and started studying game mechanics. Larry (computer geek that he is) came up with some weird calculator that crunched numbers and came up with the ideal distribution of tiles. We tested every variation of every rule we could think of. We had to make sure all the expansion sets blended together without any rule conflicts.
Somewhere along the way, we lucked out and found William Black, a freelance artist. We sent him our ideas and all the previous artwork we had created for box designs and asked him to go insane. His interpretation of Urban Insanity has put the artistic icing on the cake, put the cake in a box, and tied a ribbon around the box. And the base game box has magnets, because we are telling you, we have thought of everything.
We have spent the last 18 months working with our manufacturing company looking at product upgrade options and mapping out costs down to the smallest details, from flip-top boxes to fluorescent aliens. We ordered a final set of game prototypes in July – enough to have 6 tables going at the same time, and came up with a new format for the rules, using Mr. Black’s amazing artwork and Larry’s insane creativity. And Big Moe joined the family.
We formed X-Tile Games LLC. We trademarked Urban Insanity. We own the patent on our scoreboard design. We are legit.
So now, eight years later, it’s done. It is ready. 100% complete. We have created a full-retail board game that we will put toe-to-toe with any other game on your shelf for replay-ability and good looks. It’s simple to learn. It’s got strategy. It’s got luck. It’s got tiles, cards, dice, and meeples. It’s colorful. It’s addictive.
Every expansion set provides a new twist, and every combination of 2 or more expansion sets yields another variation of the game. And all with the same basic rules! Once you learn to play, it only takes about 5 minutes to learn a new expansion pack.
Every time we hit one of the twenty stretch goals, everyone gets their products upgraded at no additional cost.
This isn’t about selling more games – it’s about making the game really spectacular. And, if we make it to the last stretch goal , we have a special treat for everyone – the Taxi Expansion Set, which Larry’s then 10-year old son, Paul, came up with many years ago. And that will be a free expansion set exclusively on Kickstarter.

Europe and UK: We are an EU friendly shipper, and all shipping costs include VAT (Value Added Tax) to conform with all government regulations. We have included everything in the price of the shipping AND have subsidized the shipping charges with the same reductions we are offering in the USA.

Risks and challenges
We are engineering game production and delivery with the same exacting care we put into the game.
Over the last 8 years, we’ve gone through a rigorous design process. Every detail of this game has been tested and retested with as many variations as we could think of.
We've made over 20,000 tiles (10k handmade), about 1,000 action cards, and have play tested the game with others over 150 times (and about 100 more with just ourselves). We have gone through almost a dozen manufactured prototypes. Our Urbanites (meeples) have been custom designed, and we hired a professional artist to do the final art on the cards and boxes. We left at least 4 expansion packs unfinished (and depending on how this goes we'll finish them).
Immediately after the campaign is complete, we will be ordering a final prototype run of 10 games from the manufacturer. As soon as we proof these, we order the final product. This increases production time, and it ensures that we are getting exactly what is promised.
We are using the same manufacturer that makes some of the biggest board games in the world (you probably have at least one on your shelf). We have been prototyping with them for 18 months, and they have been responsive every step of the way to all of our modifications and changes.
We want to assure you that we will handle everything from manufacturing to shipping and fulfillment with the highest level of integrity and transparency. We will deliver on everything we have promised, and if there are any issues at any time, we will make sure they are addressed.
Once the campaign is complete, we will send out production updates and fun content no less than every 2 weeks until all games are delivered.
