Unruly Bastards is the hilarious party game of competitive inappropriateness. It's simple to learn, insanely fun to play and unique every time.
200 Cards. 10,000 combinations. A lifetime of hilariously unforgettable moments. 3 or more players are recommended. The game is 17+ so rounds can get as unruly as you and your friends choose to be.
HOW TO PLAY (IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES)
To begin, you pick a JUDGE. This person is all-powerful and oversees the round, encouraging players to higher levels of unruliness. Relish the power while you have it ;) There are two types of cards - THEMES (outrageous subjects) and MODIFIERS (characters or absurd traits). The judge draws one of each and reads them aloud to the group.
All the players then must perform the THEME as indicated by the MODIFIER. The judge picks the best answer, and that person becomes the judge for the next round. The first player to win five rounds wins the game and becomes the reigning UNRULY BASTARD. A few CHALLENGE cards described below change up the game's rhythm and add even more energy. If you want a PDF of the full instructions it is here.
UNIQUE GAME EXPERIENCE
In Unruly Bastards people can let go, push the boundaries of social acceptability, perform absurd situations, and simply laugh with friends. This is something we feel is desperately needed at this moment. People not only have a laugh-out-loud experience playing this game, but they often feel a sense of connectedness with their fellow players. This sounds lofty for an irreverent party game, but after hundreds of games with people from all walks of life, shy or extroverted, we know it is true, and it is what makes the experience of Unruly Bastards unforgettable.
Some THEME cards have a CHALLENGE symbol on them to indicate a slight twist to the gameplay that round. Here are the CHALLENGE icons:
SPEED symbols indicate a rapid-fire round where responses are short, and play continues until the judge stops the round to declare a winner. BATTLE symbols are more interactive. Players one-up each other until the JUDGE determines the round's winner. STORY symbols indicate players are to tell an incredible tale. PHYSICAL symbols mean the round is physically performed. NONMODIFIERS are THEME cards that also tell players how they are to be performed and thus do not require a MODIFIER to be drawn.
The initial inspiration came from a spontaneous moment that left us all wiping away tears of laughter. This developed into a loose game that we kept having a great time playing. As lovers of tabletop games, we had longed for a new party game that gave us the freedom to create our own answers and be spontaneous in a totally irreverent way. Even from the start we knew we had something special.
The rules and gameplay clarified, demo decks were printed, rigorous testing, rewriting and retooling followed, until we had the sleek and hilarious game we are bursting at the seams to share with the world, Unruly Bastards.
UNRULY BASTARDS LIVE SHOW
Testing the game revealed how hilarious it was to watch people play Unruly Bastards. Thus the live game show was born, and it will be premiering in Hollywood on Aug. 31st, "UNRULY BASTARDS LIVE." LA's top young improv comics will take the stage in a comic battle royale playing Unruly Bastards until one wins and is crowned the reigning Unruly Bastard. The rehearsals have been so incredibly funny that we have stars in our eyes and believe this will become a comedy game show on cable or streaming. Think of it as "Whose Line is it Anyway" with a more youthful and extremely R-rated, bastardly twist. By supporting us, you will be part of this development process and see from the very early stages where an idea like this can go. Dream big, ya fellow Bastards.

Risks and challenges
We have already printed many demo boxes and decks the past year honing in on the perfect size, weight and look. It's big enough to hold the cards and a few expansion packs in the future, but it's compact enough to slip into your pocket on your way to meet up with your friends.
We are already working with Ad Magic, who print Cards Against Humanity, to schedule our potential print after the Kickstarter campaign ends. We have already set up a fulfillment service that will ensure we speedily deliver the box from the production center, directly to your doorstep. We want to get this game into your hands as soon as possible so you can make your get-togethers with friends UNRULY very soon. Thanks for your interest and support. Have a blast playing. More Unruliness is to come.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
