Have a question?
@Christiane - oh so glad to hear that! Enjoy!!
Got my game yesterday in Germany. Finally!! :-) Can't wait to play it! :-)
@planetdamage - I'm so glad you weren't missing any cards! Sorry to hear that the cards stuck together, they did in my copy too. Sadly, that sometimes happens in manufacturing. I am so happy to hear you like solo play too! :-D Happy Holidays!!
Hey Sarah and thanks for getting back so quickly! Thankfully (and sorrifully, I might add) I might have cried wolf - two cards in both decks stuck together so closely that I felt them to be one card instead of two, although I went through each deck quite a few times. But now two cards felt just a tad bit heavier than usual - so that's the trick and I'm saved, apparently. Thanks for your help - and let me just add this quickly - the solo play is quite, quite fun as well! :) Happy holidays!
@planetdamage So glad you're enjoying it!! But sorry the decks got messed up.
It could make a difference if one of 4 cards is missing. In our original design, there were 2 copies of every cards, but due to printing restrictions, we had to take out 4 cards in the original deck. There are certain Dream types that are stronger when they appear on the same card so we took out one copy of those 4 cards. Let me break it down.
In the original deck, each Dream type shows up on 13 different cards. Here are the 4 Dream type combinations that only have 1 copy of it in the deck:
Interrupted Sleep & Collective Dream
Night Terror & Perfect Respite
Lucid Dreaming & Shifting Dreams
Floating Free & Recurring Dream
If you are missing one of those then the game is imbalanced due to that combination not being present at all. All other combinations will have 2 copies of it in the deck.
For the expansion deck, it should be pretty easy to check. Separate the cards by the three expansion Dream types. Then there should be 2 copies of each combined with each other Dream type. So if you find one with 3 copies if it, you can take it out.
I am hoping that your missing card in the original deck is actually in the expansion deck, but you'll have to check to make sure.
If you find out that you are indeed missing a card, you can contact Ben for a replacement.
Hey there! First of all, THANK YOU. Project: Dreamscape is a BLAST! Got a very tricky question, though: instead of two 52-card decks arriving in the game box, we got a 51-card deck (original) and 53-card one (the other, expansion). Together they do add up to 104, so I wouldn't worry too much about that - the question is: what's the game situation where a game could feel the lack of one single card? 4 players, hoarding loads of deep sleep?
Hmm... I guess that is a little worrisome. I've gotten a few messages from others about this, and they're all from Germany too... maybe the mail is just running really slow? I'm not sure why Ship Naked threw out December 20, but please do check in again if you receive it before or on that date!
I have the same problem Tim has (here in Germany). I got a shipping confirmation on November 6th, saying it should arrive within the next 3 weeks. After that time has passed, I wrote Ship Naked. They wrote back immediately and asked me to be patient till December 20th.
Still nothing yet...
Sorry to hear that Tom--I hope you do receive it soon! If you have a free moment, please feel free to share what you heard back from Ship Naked. Thanks!
It's a week or so after the delivery date in the shipping confirmation, and no sign of the game yet in Germany. Not too worried as overseas post is often slow and it is getting closer to Xmas, but I sent a note to ShipNaked just to be on the safe side :)
Sir Mike, my suggestion is to use the score pads, and make sure you splay out your REM stack (for the record, I always have mine splayed throughout the game). If you don't want to hassle with the score pads, then just use a scrap of paper.
It's really easy to keep it in your head ina 3-or-4-player game, but I admit it gets long when you're playing a 2-player game or going solol.
Hey all, sorry for the silence! Some really busy times came up for me this past week.
For everyone commenting that they received their game, that is awesome to hear!
For everyone who received their game, but it was damaged (Aiman), I'm very sorry about that! After fulfillment wraps up, I will get you taken care of. Whether it's missing/defective cards or a damaged box, you'll get a replacement!
For everyone who has not received their game (Yu Jie; regardless of whether or not you received a notification), now is the time--contact Ship Naked and let them know. They'll get you taken care of:
You can reach Ship Naked at 1-844-SHIP NAKED, via email at Help@ShipNaked.com or by text or voice at +01 603-401-9386. Their offices are open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday Eastern Time.
Glad you received it Aiman! I've not gotten mine yet.. Though I did order the game mat as well, hopefully that's not the reason of the shipment delay.
Scratch that. My games has actually arrived on the 24th. The Campus Mail failed to inform me. Grrrrr. The game arrived in an envelope with bubble wrapping so thin that the box back has a dent that almost tore the box. No biggie but next time please opt for thicker envelope!
The game is really gorgeous though.
Nothing in germany yet. No shipping confirmation, no game :(
Nope.. Have not received it yet. South East Asia too.
Has anyone in the South East Asia received this game yet? :D
Mine arrived today in Portugal :) Good quality. Didn't play it though.
Mine arrived today in Uk and all looks great. Thanks :D
Arrived today in Melbourne, Australia. That's another tick off the Christmas list...
Got mine today, very quality product and fun game, I'm not too fond of the scoring system though, seems a bit cumbersome. Its a good scoring method though. Its just really annoying trying to keep track of your combos while at the same time figure out your score. Wait did I have 3 2 card streaks and a 4 card streak and a 7 card streak or 3 2 card streaks and a 4 card streak with a 7 card streak...oh look theres another 2 card streak I missed so thats um...
Just received my copy. Looks fabulous - can't wait to play. Thanks!
Sorry for the misunderstanding, Mark. A maybe, of course, did not necessarily commit you, but it would have been equally as silly for me to mail it out to you ahead of you possibly coming to pick it up in person. :)
Those who weren't able to come are having their rewards packaged up for shipment--I just didn't put two and two together to see at first that you were on that list! :D
Thanks. I saw some of the emails but since it was far I didn't read too much into it. I didn't realize maybe had committed me to a local pick-up. Anyway thanks for getting this resolved, I hope I'll get it soon.
Mark! I finally figured it out! I had you down as a "maybe" on the local pick up--didn't you get any of those e-mails? Anywho, I held onto your copy in case you showed up in person to pick it up last Saturday. I'll have Ship Naked send you a copy. :)
I still have no shipment notification and nothing in my mail :( I also have no idea if my case is being attended to or not. If Ship naked has already shipped everything then they must have forgotten to ship my copy. Could I get updates on my situation? Thanks!
Got my copy yesterday! Located in the Netherlands. Played it once with girlfriend and we both enjoyed the game. Lots of interesting decisions in a game this small. Thanks for a great Kickstarter project!
lol, Jason, that's not kosher! The whole game should definitely have linen finish!
I just gave Jason a quick call, and it turns out that there is a linen finish, but it's kind of... spotty? While always present, some cards are more "lineny" than others. I'm going to follow up with him in a few days to see if it affects play at all.
Got my copy in the mail today, just now had a chance to open it. I was a bit confused to see that the base cards have a pleasant linen finish, but the expansion cards are just regular glossy cardstock. Otherwise, everything looks really nice.
It makes me so giddy to read that people are enjoying it!! It's what matters most to me and Will, that people enjoy what we've made.
I am also really stoked about the quality and I have Ben to thank for doing such great research in what company to go with for manufacturing.
While I can't affect any of the shipping delays and no notices, I do hope everything will work out soon. I know Ben will do everything he can to help.
I've checked my spam folder. I have received other notifications from Ship Naked before for other games I've backed. Mine must have been missed somehow. As of yesterday I haven't received anything in the mail either.
Received my copy today in Maryland. Excited to try it out :) Thank you. The quality of the cards and box are amazing <3 the attention and care.
Project Dreamscape arrived here today! :) I'm in Sweden.
My copy arrived at my door in Denmark today :-)
Mine also arrived today in Belgium. A lot faster than 3 weeks mentioned in the email.
I'll check the game tonight when I'm at home.
Wolfgang, that's great! And so fast! How did it fare during the trip?! Everything okay in there?
Mark, I've confirmed with Ship Naked that all of the orders have shipped. One guy on BGG, though, said he got his shipment confirmation four hours *after* his game arrived. Seems to be a weird thing on USPS' end. Have you checked your spam folder?
My package just arrived here in Austria :):):):)
I still seem to not have received a shipping notice or an update regarding my copy. Could you look into mine for me? Thanks!
Matt and Squirrel, I'm happy that y'all are happy with the production quality! :D
Squirrel, to reassure you about the two things you pointed out, the box lid will basically fall off after a couple of opens. The cards not lining up was admittedly intentional (you'll also notice that the card back is not a mirror image, but rather a full-sized painting where Julie just tried really hard to make it look that way), but you can be confident that this couldn't possible affect game play in any capacity. :D
They do have a nice finish to the cards don't they? The only thing I noticed is a slight irregularity on the centering of the backs of some of the cards.. you can notice it when you square up the deck and look at the side of the stack, you can see where some card backs were slightly printed off center. I don't think it would cause any issues actually playing but it's something I noticed. Certainly not something that would need replacement but something to consider on your next print run. Also, next time have the lid with those thumb cutouts so it's easier to open! That thing is hard to get open.. perhaps I'll just leave it open all the time so we can play more. ;)
Just got the game in the mail so I haven't gotten to play it yet, but I did want to let you guys know how blown away I was by the quality of everything. To echo what others have said, the box, the design of the rule book, quality of the tokens, all are top notch. The cards especially warmed my heart. Card quality has been a bit of a mixed bag for so many games I've gotten recently, but certainly not with this. They look and feel great. I just wanted to take a moment to complement you guys. Awesome job.
Allan and Kyric, thank you both for your kind words! Loved reading every word of your review, Allan! I am bummed, of course, that the magnet didn't stick. :S But I agree that some glue should do the trick--lemme know if not! I agree that QPC did a great job with production (that linen finish tho!), and Julie's art pops like a firework. It's so bright and colorful!!!
And I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it so much! We seriously could not have done it without you and all of the other backers--really, go back and look through the original campaign aspirations. This could have been a ingle deck of cards in a tuck box, but all of you really made it something. Thank you (and Sarah, and Will, and Julie!) for giving me the opportunity to bring it to life!
Kyric, glad to hear it! For right now, Project Dreamscape is best purchased at our website: http://undinestudios.com/pd.html -- Orders ship the very next business day, and the price includes shipping. I do hope it'll be available it stores soon, though! I don't want it to be in stores until I'm sure all backers have copies.
I received my Collector's Edition Friday night and after unboxing and playing a few games I thought I'd post my brief review:
I have to say that this may be one of the best final products of any Kickstarter I've backed. The manuafacturing quality of every component was great, the box, the cards, the art, the rules & strategic dreaming packets, all were very well done. The only issue I came across was with the magnets that hold the colelctors edition lid in place. The glue had gave out on one of the magnets so it ended up stuck together with the bottom magnet and no longer attached to the lid. Nothing that a little gorilla glue cant fix though.
I have to say I had some high hopes for this game based on everything I had read and viewed from the Kickstarter....and it didnt disappoint! When I investigate new games the main thing I look for is uniqueness. Not just in the story the game is telling, but how that story is told. The one thing that will frustrate me everytime is if I see a game and think, "oh that's just --insert established game here-- with a different name". Thankfully, that is not the case with Project Dreamscape.
The theming of the game is well developed, though it's maybe taken a bit far within the rules explanations, but I figured it out regardless. Take that and couple it with a very unique gameplay and mechanics that I have never encountered before (using the deck as currency instead of just fodder for a hand, as an example, is wonderfully creative) and you get a fun, engaging, and addictive game.
The games we played over the weekend were great and it was picked up fast. I definitely see this as a standard for family game nights.
Hats off to the Reeds and Undine for designing and presenting this superb game and giving us all a chance to contribute to make it a reality. Job well done guys....job well done.
Played again with the Saturday game night crew. A much larger group than the Tuesday night crowd. It was a hit! It hit the table multiple times with several different groups of players. Each had a great time.
Will this game be available soon for my local game store to aquire copies, it is going to sell quite well with our crowd.
I did finally get a shipping notice. Looks Iike I was probably affected by the game mat issue.
I've not received a shipping notice yet.
Yay, my shipping notice just popped up! Excellent news!
Sorry, scratch that - did receive a shipping notification, just went into my spam. My mistake! Hopefully that means I'll get to enjoy the game soon!
