SCOURGE: A Game of War is an extremely strategic card game designed for 2 - 4 players. Each player commands an army, consisting of Infantry, Magicians, Heroes, and Strategy Cards, with a single goal in mind - eliminate all enemy armies!
Each game consists of 2 decks - a Red Deck and a Blue Deck. Each deck is balanced, with soldiers, archers, sorcerers, healers, and much more. Players take turns sending out troops from their hand onto the battlefield - if the opposing army cannot counter or defend, he or she must take damage.
Players can capture and sacrifice prisoners of war to unlock new abilities, upgrade already learned abilities and more. While some cards attack an opposing army, other cards can attack an opponent's King directly.
If Army Health or King Health reaches zero, that player loses, and the last surviving army wins!
From the beginning of the creation of Scourge, we wanted the base game to have the full and complete experience, rather than unlocking certain features as stretch goals were hit. We are excited to say that after a lot of effort, the base game will include every feature that Scourge: A Game of War originally had to offer! However, the stretch goals below improve the quality of the game. Check them out below and share our campaign page to help us hit these goals!
STRETCH GOAL #1 - THE AERETH
Scourge is designed for 2 - 4 players, each player controlling a different army. Each copy of game contains two decks. The game begins with each army shuffling their cards thoroughly. Players begin by each drawing 10 cards.
During your turn, you can lay down up to 3 Infantry cards, 3 Magicians and 2 Heroes. Each type of card has different abilities and is countered differently. Be cautious of what you lay out - be sure to keep enough in your hand to effectively defend against your opponent's upcoming attack!
When your opponent attacks, you can defend yourself by laying down specific cards. Infantry cards can usually be defended by a Shield, while some cards, such as the Guard, can be taken out by a Fighter.
Some cards, such as Magicians, cannot be defended by shields. Instead, they must be countered by an exact opposite. Fire beats Earth, Earth beats Water and Water beats Fire!
Successfully countered or defended cards are sent to their respective discard piles. These cards no longer need to be defended against and do not deal any damage.
If players cannot defend, they receive damage to either King or Army health. Most cards attack Army health, while others attack the King. Some cards, such as the Archer, can attack both.
Chains can be used to take enemy cards as your prisoners. If successfully chained, prisoners go next to your discard pile and can be used on a later turn to unlock or upgrade your armies abilities.
Keys can be used to counter chains. If a chain is successfully countered, both the chain and the key go to the discard pile, and the original card remains on the playing field. Keys can also be used to release previously captured prisoners from your opponent.
Captured prisoners can be used to unlock or upgrade your armies abilities. These upgrades include placing extra Infantry cards, using Shields against Magicians, retaining successful Magicians in your hand and more!
Armies are eliminated when either King or Army health reaches 0. The last standing army wins!

Ultra Evil Studios began in 2015 with the launch of Stormweavers, a card game of cataclysmic proportions. Raising nearly $25,000 dollars on Kickstarter, Stormweavers opened the door to several other projects. Today, Ultra Evil Studios employs multiple team members while working to create immersive and enjoyable experiences in a variety of different mediums. Most recently, Ultra Evil Studios launched Psychiatrist the Game in card game format, and looks forward to a mobile release in the coming months. We are looking forward to adding Scourge: A Game of War to our lineup and your game room!

Risks and challenges
Like many startups, the primary obstacle of growing a business is raising enough capital to manufacture product on a large scale. That is why we have come to Kickstarter. We love this game, and we want to be able to bring it to the masses. We know that with your help we can bring this project to life, and open the door to future projects as well. We have already partnered with an experienced manufacturer to mass produce our game, so all we need is a little funding to help us cross the finish line!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
