I'm super excited about this project. It is awesome you have a couple different wood options! Will you have multiple color options for the abs plastic like white or black?

As someone who has watched a friend run two different Kickstarter campaigns, one with a bunch of stretch goals/add ons and one without, I reckon the streamlined approach is a FANTASTIC choice!
Stoked about this new product. So cool to see Ugmonk branching out in new directions!

@Ankur: Thanks for backing! I know it's tempting to add other stretch goals but the more things we add, the longer production could take and the more potential for problems to come up. I want to make sure we deliver the best quality product in the estimated time frame and not get distracted with adding to our current product options.

Hey Jeff, good job and looks really good. Already a backer, but like some others I agree, adding stretch goals will add more excitement for existing backers, in turn they will help get more backers as well! Pls do consider. Cheers

@Mark V: Thanks for the kind words! Really excited to get Gather into your hands. I don't have plans to add any stretch goals. I want to stay focussed on the current options and make sure to deliver them on time. I do have lots of ideas for future add-ons once the Kickstarter is over :)

@Jeff, that's good to hear! The iPad Pro (12.9) is pretty hefty, I imagine the docks would need to be in the front rows at least to try and offset the weight though I could attach the headphones piece to the back to prevent tip page. Not sure if there's any force needed to insert the plastic pieces or not and if that would be a factor.

@Amanda: Sorry, for the Kickstarter we aren't planning to let people customize what's in each set. We will probably sell the individual pieces after the Kickstarter campaign in over, but things get really tricky if we get into customizing each one. We want to keep things simple so we can fulfill everything on time :)

So going by the comments, I guess it's unlikely that we could get different configurations of the plastic containers?
I might get two for my desk for example, but I wouldn't need two phone holders so I was hoping to switch it out.

@Jayme: Yes I need to add some of this to the FAQ. It's been a crazy couple day so haven't had a chance yet. I can't promise any discounts but we'll try to hook up all our backers since you guys are making Gather happen :) I don't think the phone holder will support an iPad Pro. It works great with the iPad mini though.

@Jeff, Wow I feel like an idiot! I literally just read the previous comments and all my questions were basically asked and answered already . . . So sorry! Maybe address this in your next update or add some of these questions to the FAQ to save yourself some trouble! I promise I usually read everything before I comment! I'm backing another Kickstarter that also is not doing stretch goals to focus on quality and some of the backers are making a fuss. Thoughts of minimalism and organization will give me strength through this campaign so I am willing to wait! Any chance backers could get small discounts on stuff released after the campaign? Also, the phone dock says "small tablets" I am taking this as absolute confirmation that it would have a hard time supporting my iPad Pro?

@Jayme: Yes, after the campaign is over. I know it's tough to wait but I've seen so many other Kickstarter creators get distracted ad not deliver their rewards as planned. No stretch goals planned. Just working on producing and shipping Gather with the best quality we can.

@Jayme: For the Kickstarter we are only offer these two color options and the wood comes finished so it can't be easily re-stained. But in the future we will probably offer more base options as well as sell the individual top pieces a la cart. Just trying to keep the Kickstarter streamlined and focussed so we can deliver in time :)

@Jeff what are the possibilities for additional colors (or is it possible to stain it myself?) and purchasing addition plastic pieces? I have two iPhones, one for work and the other is my personal phone so I would love to have 2 docks!

I.e I might add one to give as a gift but I'm not sure I will commit to that before the KS is over.

1. When the campaign ends we'll send out a survey where you'll get to choose your wood color. The extension kits will be available in both walnut and maple.

This is the first Kickstarter I've ever backed! That's how stoked I am to get my hands on this product. Can't wait!
Two quick questions:
1. Can I choose the color? If so, will the extension kits come in a maple option as well?
2. Where/when do I provide my ship to info?

@Alex: Thanks! No plans for stretch goals right now. I want to focus on the current options and modules that you see on the page. But I do have lots of ideas for future add-ons once the Kickstarter is over :)

Awesome product. Looks like you will be a good amount above and beyond your target goal by the end of 60 days! Congrats already! Any stretch goals or plans to offer additional organizational compartments during this time? Or maybe even fun ideas you've thought of that are maybe more likely made far down the line when this is an established product in your store? I like the less-ordinary things you've thought about like the headphone rack.

@Michael: We're trying to keep the main Kickstarter rewards streamlined, but when the campaign ends you'll have the option to add additional sets before we ship anything.

I'm interested in a combo + regular pledge so that I can either make a more rectangular configuration or possibly a really long one... Will you be using a pledge manager to allow for that extra purchase? Or perhaps selling the extension parts (coaster + headphone stand) separately?

@Seth: Yes, I tried several iterations of the phone stand to allow a cable to pass through it, but each one had challenges that made the phone holder into a super bulky piece and a mediocre dock. The only way to solve this would be to make it work for just iPhones, but Apple changes things so frequently that this could quickly become outdated. I chose to go back to the simplest, cleanest solution and make it just an awesome stand. Maybe in the future I can design a separate docking station that magnetically attaches and doesn't have to compromise the design or functionality.

Curious - looks like some of the earlier prototypes of the phone cradle had a bottom hole for a charging cable but the final does not. Is that the case? Seems like it would be useful but I'm sure there was a reason it didn't make it into the final iteration.
