Have a question?
@gv: copper heatsink would be great anyway! :)
@Phenic: those mounts are designed for replaceable CPUs. A CPU socket and a CPU with IHS (standard desktop mainboard) are much higher than a PCB-mounted CPU without IHS (BOLT and notebook mainboards), so AM4/S1151 locking mechanism won't work.
The second problem is the size: BOLT has dimensions of 120×120 mm and an AM4 mount is 90×54 mm large, so simply it is too large for this board.
@UDOO: please use as large and high as possible heatsink having very good thermal conductivity. And maybe you should sell a copper version in your shop for people who are obsessed with silence (like me :) ).
@Udoo Can you use a standard like 1151, AM4 or something similar for the heatsink? It would increase compatibility greatly.
@Satoshi Yamaguchi: We will collect backers address information nearer to the fulfilment of the rewards.
@Patrick Bregman: The current revision of the board has mounting holes to mount a 6cmx6cm heatsink, however, this may change as the design of the board progresses.
I'm looking forward to it. But I might move(undecided)...
Will the heatsink use a normal mount so we could swap it out for an other heatsink? Or is it at least somehow compatible with an existing mount?
@Renny: The shipping company has not yet been decided.
@Joschka Mick: :)
what shipping company you guys going to use?
What happend? No "We did it"-Update when the campaign finished? 🤷🏻♂️
Are you guys thinking about something? A little surprise? 😊
Looking forward to receive my Udoo!
@andy: We will publish a getting started guide for the UDOO BOLT nearer to shipping. For example, here is the guide for the UDOO X86, our previously crowdfunded board: https://www.udoo.org/get-started-x86/
The starter kit does not include a case, but this item will be available form our shop, and we will publish a project update once it can be pre-ordered.
@El Wafir: It is not possible to raise an invoice in the time you require, as we do not receive the funds from Kickstarter until another week has passed, and we then need to process all the associated information we get sent at the same time. We will send you a message soon.
@gv: Thank you for sharing the links about the future support in ROCm.
I pledge $348 for early bird udoo bold v8 + kit 4gb.
Is it come with case?
If not, how can I order one?
Thank you for your infomation
Andy: Additionally, you may need to buy an M.2 SSD (or a SATA one), as the built-in 32GB eMMC storage is quite small.
Andy: The Bolt is a whole computer, you just need a keyboard, mouse, monitor and to install an OS (Windows, Linux, etc). If you didn't order it with the case, you'll need to take some precautions to ensure it's protected against static electricity and spills (among other things).
I don,t really understand about computer.
What do i have to add to make udoo bolt a computer , so my daughter can use it.
Congrats for the campaign!
Looking forward to receiving the board!
I pleaged for a 32GB RAM UDOO board. My accountant is asking for an invoice for this payment. He says the recipt from kickstarter is not a supporting document.
What is the procedure to get a proper invoice? We would need it in the following week. Big thanks.
@gv Thanks for the info! based on the thread looks like support is coming soon
@Tarmizi Izzuddin: Ryzen Embedded V1000 series are based on Raven Ridge which is *currently* not supported by ROCm, but it will support sometime in the future:
Dear udoo team, will the Radeon Open Compute (ROCm https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm ) work with udoo bolt ? This is because with the recently released of ROCm Tensorflow 1.8 ( https://gpuopen.com/rocm-tensorflow-1-8-release/) many exciting AI applications can be developed by leveraging the GPU. Also if possible can you share with us some AI demo using the udoo bolt? many thanks !
@Jesper Kiaer: When a backer's pledge is collected by Kickstarter on our behalf, they send an email that includes the details of the pledge and the reward selection.
The receipt provided by Kickstarter is sufficient for most backers, however, for our previous campaigns, we raised invoices upon request by those who needed it. Please note that it will be easier for us to manage this type of request after the backer survey has been sent, as we will have all the necessary backer information.
Is it possible to get an invoice for the pledge payment?
@Chad Ringström: The metal case will be available from the UDOO shop. There will be 3D printable cases shared on Thingiverse by the community https://www.thingiverse.com/search…
We will publish the 3D model of the board before December, so interested backers can start designing cases before they receive their rewards.
For those checking this comments section for guidance on fixing a failed pledge payment, please refer to this page by Kickstarter https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005133293-A-project-I-m-backing-just-succeeded-and-my-pledge-was-declined-What-do-I-do-
My Pledge status is Collected ! Awesome, i have to finish the 3d models for printing until it arrives :)
Please ad an option to purchase a case in the survey or at least make the case open hardware as well so I can print one.
@Alester Leongpuh: Yes, there is graphics API support for OpenGL 4.6
Does this support open gl 4.x?
I had some issues because I went "All in", this is my fourth UDOO product, so I'm really confident that they deliver what they promise. I just love my x86, even it is really underpowered. I'm glad that I'm in first 15 backers :D
Yay! My pledge was successfully collected. I am now waiting for my Bolt V8 this year so hopefully!
@kongbaraku: The board design has mounting holes to mount a 6cmx6cm heatsink. However, this may change as the design of the board progresses.
The SoC processor is soldered onto the board and not removable.
I have question. If I will change heatsink CPU . What type CPU socket. Am 4?
@Jito463 - WoOS, LofUT: Credit card problem is resolved now. Thanks for you advises!
@All: The pledges are now being collected by Kickstarter on our behalf. If anyone has their pledge declined by their card issuer, Kickstarter will send an email about solving the issue. They also have published this topic in their FAQ https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005133293-A-project-I-m-backing-just-succeeded-and-my-pledge-was-declined-What-do-I-do-
@Laura Gales Thank you, and congratulations @UDOO
Herbert: You can try running your card again (it may have been a temporary glitch), otherwise you'll need to contact your bank. It's possible they may have restrictions in place that are blocking it.
My credit card company declined the transaction but it should be cleared now. Please try again.
@UDOO Administration: My Credit Card seems to cause problems. Who can I contact to resolve this issue. The card is of course valid!
@Herbert Hotz, @Claudio Enrico Campani, @Krzysztof Piotrowski: Thanks for the congratulations. We are very excited to be able to bring a Ryzen board UDOOers! and look forward to sharing updates along the way!
@Jito463 - WoOS, LofUT: Yes, there will be documentation on the firmware.
@UDOO: Great - thanks fro your quick response!
congratulations and great thanks to all who managed that this project reaches reality now. I'm eagerly waiting ...
Will there be documentation for the BIOS settings made available later (e.g. boot menu key, layout of settings, etc)?
Thank you UDOOers!
Yeah! Congratulations to UDOO and to all the bakers!
Congrats @UDOO!! Cant wait to get the bolt in my hands!! :)
Too bad we have not reached the stretch goals (2nd and 3rd).
@Herbert Hotz: Yes, the UDOO BOLT supports Wake-on-LAN and has a battery backed RTC.
@UDDO: 1) Support for Wake-on-LAN, 2) Battery powered clock?
@Julien: Not out-of-the-box, but this capability can be added by the user, by utilising the side-expansion header to connect to a connectivity module designed for an MCU.
Will the MCU be able to connect to the internet while the CPU is powered off or sleeping?
Thank you all for the replies. They helped make my decision.
@Tarmizi Izzuddin: Thank you!
We appreciate all the friends we have made over the years!
And awesomely, today is Friendship Day! https://twitter.com/UDOO_Board/status/1023923856229191680
in the last hours, i am succumbed to back udoo bolt. This is my fourth time backing up udoo's team , after dual, neo and x86. Damn u , udoo. Hope to tinker with it in the end of the year,
