Here's what Uwe Eickert of Academy Games has to say about ELEMENTOS
"When I first saw Elementos, I thought, what a nice kids game. But then we began playing it and were amazed by the depth of the game. I love the strategy and tough decisions that I have to make in order to get ahead. Do I sacrifice a unit to open a path forward for my wand? Or do I wait until I have set more reinforcements, risking that my opponent may spring a trap if I wait too long.
I highly recommend Elementos. The game quality and game play are both phenomenal - a wonderful Kickstarter project to support."
Uwe Eickert, Academy Games
"Elementos is one of those rare games that combines a simple rules-set with layers of strategy. It can be very intense to play, yet can be taught in a matter of minutes. I highly enjoyed my plays of Elementos and I can see gamers enjoying it over and over again. Combined with a beautiful presentation, Elementos is a winning abstract strategy game that I'm sure will be loved by a wide variety of people!"
David Harding, Grail Games (creator of "101 The card game", "Guns & Steel")
HOT OFF THE PRESS - UNDEAD VIKING REVIEW
Words like "surprising depth and tactics", "easy to learn", "cool elements", "feels good", "fun experience", "cool box", "play at work over lunch", "teach kids basic strategy", "really really enjoyed playing" just keep echoing in our proud heads.
"Wood you like to play a unique new game? quite a revolutionary game, in which the basic elements face each other, and any move might be changed and reversed. Wooden, compact, neat game inspired by Rock-Paper-Scissors logic, in a fresh approach. Water, Wood and Fire are the elements in stake, light strategy will lead you across the board to win!"
Boaz Coster, partner and game designer, Theora Design (inventors of "Guess who?")
"Great-looking campaign! We featured it today on Casual Game Revolution"
Chris James, founder, Casual Games Revolution (bringing positive change to the board game industry)
"Elementos - is a two player strategy game where players will each try and get their wand to their opponents side of the board. To do this ... It sounds cool and the wooden components (including the box that folds out to become the board) are very well done. Check it out."
Kick the Table, Mike Minutillo, as reviewd in Board Game Geeks
Elementos is a fast paced strategy game for two. Rules are easy and quick to learn which unleashes a game with a surprising strategic depth. Elementos is about setting traps, thinking ahead, and exercising a neglected grey cell or two. It's a head to head challenge taking place in a natural setting.
Elementos is a game for all; kids and adults – as long as you enjoy a little challenging fun. All are invited! We see Elementos as a universal game; easily understood no matter where you're from or what language you speak.
The idea behind Elementos is simple. We play in a world of 3 fundamental elements: Fire, Water, and Tree. The 3 different elements complete a life cycle; fire takes tree, tree takes water, and water takes fire; the elements create a comfy state of equilibrium. Thing is, each game piece is actually a two faced deceiving character since each game piece can be flipped to reveal a different element on their opposite side that is known only to their master. These elements are potential carriers of your wand, which is the real star of the game.
Be the first player to advance the wand to the other side of the board – and you become an Elemaster, winner of the game.
We took our time to develop a meticulous design. Carefully crafted, all game parts are made of wood with top quality prints (silkscreened). All art and graphics were delicately adjusted to keep Elementos naturally simple and pretty. With our audience in mind, we designed a portable game case you can take to the beach, to the park, keep it in your car, or bring it to the bar. Feel free to take it to school, we're sure your teacher won’t mind.
You get the idea. Enjoy!
We both believe in quality and strive to give you not only a superb game experience, but also deliver a top quality product. We decided to produce the game using silkscreened prints on wood to make it a portable game that will last. To do so, we require significant funds and so we pledge your help and try to generously reward you for your support. We paid quite a large sum to make playable prototypes so we know the game is ready to go, tested, and admired by plenty of game makers who saw it. Now we need more funds to be able to bring this game to life. If the campaign is completely funded, we’ll be able to make the minimum 2000 units the manufacturer requires, and finally launch what we believe will be a great success all over the world.
Stretch goal 1:
If funding reaches or exceeds $15,000, we will add a large organic cotton embroidered bag with logo of the game for better safe guarding and carry on.
Stretch goal 2:
If funding reaches or exceeds $25,000, we will add to the current game pieces colors of black&white, another color combination option of silver&gold.
Stretch goal 3:
If funding reaches or exceeds $150,000, we will embark on a journey which is our mission for Tyto Games. Our innovative and creative nature has led us to believe this venture is the start of something big, a new age for board games. We believe in change, but cherish tradition and the gaming culture, so we really see the future as some kind of a hybrid. We believe that making board games interactive, using wireless chip technology inside the game pieces and board (allowing online game play and added content) will be the first small step towards a new gaming experience.
Risks and challenges
We minimized the risks and challenges by getting all the art and graphic work done. We came to terms with a quality manufacturer and the production line is set to go. We have also came to terms with a shipping/fulfillment operation.
We will do our best to make sure this project is completed successfully.
Having said that, we are aware that setbacks and mishaps might happen. Since we intend ELEMENTOS to be our first successful game and a beginning of a new way, we ensure you we'll do our best to deliver on time (our goal is to deliver by Christmas). We'll keep an open connection with our backers and keep you posted on how things progress.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
