So, What's EPIC All About?
After a freak experiment gives teenager Eric Ardor incredible powers, he does what you would do...he puts on a costume and becomes EPIC! Super strength, speed, flight, optic blasts…it’s a fanboy's dream come true. Unfortunately, he's just discovered he has one weakness...pretty girls! While most boys his age lose their cool around the hotties, EPIC loses his powers! Living in Miami, home to the zaniest super-villains AND the most bikinis per capita in America, it’s gonna be a problem…

More About The Book
EPIC has been a true labor of love for Matt and I. Also helping us bring EPIC #1 to life is artist Fico Ossio (Critter), inker Vic Moya (THE RED TEN), color artists Arsia Rozegar (Incredible Hulk, Iron Man) assisted by Katrina Joyner, and editor Steve Forbes (The Red Ten, The Standard.)

What Are the EPIC Incentives for Backers?
Matt and I have been working on EPIC for a long time, and now that the pilot issue is finally complete, we can't wait any longer to get it out to as many readers as possible. With the help of Kickstarter and backers like you, we’ll be able to do a high quality offset print run, and deliver a premium comic directly to the readers who want it most.
How will the Kickstarter funds be used?
EPIC #1 is completed and all production costs have been paid for. The funds raised by this Kickstarter will be used to help us produce a premium offset print run, to deliver a EPIC-quality product. Funds raised above our goal will help pay for fulfillment costs such as shipping, and the cost of other campaign merchandise.

Risks and challenges
I sincerely thank you for considering backing this project. While every creative project has its share of challenges, I’ve taken the following steps to mitigate the risk associated fulfilling this project:
1) EPIC #1 is completely finished! This project is focused solely on funding the book's printing by our friends at Trivision.
2) Our printer is reliable! We’re working with Trivision, a well-respected print shop that does books for Image, IDW, Th3rdWorld Studios and more. To date, ComixTribe has printed more than 10,000 copies of comic books with Trivision, and they’ve never let us down.
3) This isn’t my first Kickstarter Rodeo! Last year, I Kickstarted the Oxymoron Volume 1 Hardcover, and had a blast doing it. I learned a lot during that experience, and have even been asked to speak at comic conventions about how to run a crowdfunding campaign. Today, I have an even better handle on what it takes to fulfill a Kickstarter project now.
You're right, there is no pledge reward for a single physical copy of EPIC #1. This is for two reasons. First, the cost of packing and shipping a single issue is expensive...especially when you're talking shipping overseas. I hate charging so much for a floppy. However, adding an extra copy cuts the per issue shipping cost down significantly, meaning a greater % of your pledge will go to product, and not the post office! It's better value for backers, and better helps the project. And the second reason is that we're proud of this book, and want to get as many copies out into the world as possible. So, giving every backer at least two copies, one for your collection, and one to share (if you so choose), seemed like a great way to do that.
Yes! While we released a New York Comic Con Preview Edition of EPIC #1 a while back, that was a limited run of just 100 copies, and only contained the first 20 pages of the 32 page pilot issue. This campaign is for the full-issue. The book has been remastered, with new covers, and a dozen pages never before printed.
The hard copy will be 32 pages, the standard size of a floppy...although unlike most comics you buy, all 32 pages will be story...no ads!
There are three versions of the hard copy floppy - the standard cover, the Kickstarter exclusive, and the artist edition. To get a close look at all three, check out this update: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tylerjamescomics/epic-a-superteen-action-comedy/posts/608301
The Digital Director's Cut will include the same 32 pages, plus a ton of backmatter...concept sketches, scripts, notes, some pin-ups, etc.
All backers $5 and up will receive the Digital Director's Cut, and it will be sent out the minute the campaign ends!
