The suspender market today is divided, and largely pigeonholed into wedding-wear, novelty goods, and construction apparel. Better Than Belts’ product aims to put fashion and function at the forefront to create something truly designed for everyday wear.
We (Tyler and Tori Farley) are Northeastern University alumni with combined experience across design, manufacturing, growth and brand marketing. A brother-sister duo that aims to breathe new life into the traditional accessory.
Over the last couple of years, Tyler dealt with a variety of health issues resulting in weight fluctuation. Through this experience, he grew frustrated by the uncomfortable waist-cinching by belts and pants which, in rare and severe cases, can even be attributed to gastrointestinal and liver diseases and certain cancers.
We are thrilled to support American jobs, by designing in Boston and assembling our high-quality products in New York. From the idea's inception in November 2018, we've vetted manufacturers and found the perfect partner to help us bring refreshed suspenders to market.
We set out to design the most fashionable and comfortable suspenders that you can wear every day. Pair with a t-shirt, crop top, or button-down. The sky is the limit.
With your help, we will be able to establish our first production runs. Our overall goal is to support sustainable fashion and provide a comfortable and fashionable alternative to belts.
Thanks for checking us out <3

The Viral Effect: Fulfillment.
Should this campaign be wildly successful (truly wildly), it may take us longer than expected to fulfill all orders. That being said, we have a strategic manufacturing partner in New York City and are prepared to scale as needed.
Unexpected Supply Chain Speed Bumps: There's always a possibility that something outside of our control may impact our fulfillment timeline. If something like this comes up, we'll make sure to keep constant communication with our backers! We spent time choosing a manufacturer that is able to give us realistic timelines, and we try to be conservative in these estimates.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
