I'm making an album about fear and liberation. It's almost done.
As an experiment, I've decided to self-release it. Digital will be released at the end of this preorder campaign, and the vinyl will ship about three months later. Shortly after the campaign, the album will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and other modern music services.
Thanks for your support. Here's a short bio:
I was born in the 70's and raised in the 80's in the Northern suburbs of Boston. My dad had a small, solid record collection based around The Stones, Zeppelin, The Police, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello and Neil Young.
I started playing drums at age twelve and picked up a guitar at sixteen. Making up songs and recording them on a four track shortly followed.
In 1999, Made in Mexico Records released my first solo album, How We Spend Our Days. Truckstop Records released my second album Blue Laws in 2001. My Pal God Records released my next EP, Pollensongs, in 2002.
I moved to Seattle in 2003 and joined Pedro the Lion. I did that for a few years. We made Pedro the Lion's Achilles Heel and started a synth side project called Headphones. Returning to Boston in 2007, I fronted a band called The Soft Drugs, who released two EPs, which were later compiled onto one album.
In 2014, I started a new band with David Bazan, Jason Martin and Trey Many called Lo Tom. We will release our first record in 2017.
I'm also a mastering engineer, having worked on more than 850 projects for other artists.
Risks and challenges
At the time of launch, I'm approximately 80% done. Short of some unforseen personal catastrophe, this is totally doable.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
