I’m Twig the Fairy.
So ... things have gotten, shall we say, fairy interesting in my world. I’ve got big news.
For those who don't know me, as long as I can remember, I’ve believed in a special type of fairy magic, and that it’s my mission to spread it as far and wide as possible.
(Give a fairy a goal and enough glitter to be dangerous and really, nothing is impossible.)
It started with a childlike sense of wonder with sparkly things and now, yes, I’ve got a lifelong obsession with glitter bombing =)
Throughout the year, I live my dream at Renaissance Faires, Fairy Festivals, online, and now even in books. You can check out a few videos on youtube.com/twigthefairy …
I magically make my way around, spreading fairy dust and joy as far as wonders can reach. In fact, I manage such ridiculous quantities of glitter that I’m almost certainly on a fairy-watch-list somewhere =)
But I think I can do more. I just need your help.
So, I took the most incredible adventure earlier this year and I simply must share it with you in the most incredibly glitterrifically imaginable book.
The Project!
Ok. This part … if I spoke … I would whisper, but since I don’t speak, I just have type … I’m SO excited to announce that I have had an AMAZING adventure with fairies, goblins, and omgomgomg … a unicorn.

With you. And with the world. What can I say, fairies dream BIG! =)
Here are some of the essential details: It will be a hardcover storybook illustrated in photo. It will be full color, roughly 32 pages, and approximately 17 million 5895 hundred thousand fairy words. Which is not quite as many in human words.* Kids will love it and it will make adults feel like kids again … which means they will love it too =)
There’s a lot of things we can make happen by the great and almighty power of fairy dust. But a lot of things that need some help as well.
The funds raised here will be used for some of the things you’d expect: travel to a few magical locations to shoot photos for the book, completing the photo editing and illustrations, actually manufacturing the books, shipping within the United States, etc. It also covers a few of the unexpecteds. There’s a large damage expense, for instance, when you work with goblins. And unicorns tend to eat like a horse …

Risks and challenges
It's going to be a whirlwind to deliver all the rewards by Christmas! Many of the rewards impact the content of the book, so collecting all the information and getting into the book in time to print it and get it out will be an enormous challenge, but with a little fairy magic and luck, many families should expect to be very happy this year!
The first challenge, collecting all the information to go in the book, was met by being persistent with the few stragglers who weren't able to answer their surveys immediately. We will just need to be diligent with every last backer to get them to answer their surveys.
The second challenge, getting it printed, will require a lot of open communication with our printer to make sure the files are production-ready, the final proof lives up to our standards, and then just getting it to our door.
Finally, packaging all the rewards and shipping them out will be a challenge. In the past, we were able to actually ship out almost 1000 orders in one weekend, so we feel we are ready for this task.
We also have a handful of other rewards that will need to be fulfilled that don't have to do with the book, but we have much of these completed or lined up already. We are just waiting for the word to say GO.
