TwentySomething Productions was born out of a combined passion for contemporary, American musical theatre. Creating a platform for new writers and voices to be heard. Having developed a following in London we think it's time to share this amazing, new work with the international talent and audiences of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014!
6 - a new musical
6 people. 6 years. 6 degrees apart.
What's it about?
Ever wondered how your life could be affected by someone you’ve never even met? This new musical charts the individual stories of six New Yorker’s as they intertwine and influence each other in profound and unexpected ways. Book, music AND lyrics by Zack Zadek....talented bugger.
- Zack Zadek is the composer of 6 – a new musical and The Crazy Ones. His work has been heard at Joe’s Pub, Le Poisson Rouge, 54 Below and the Highline Ballroom. In January we produced Zack's UK debut concert featuring some of London's finest voices.
From NYC to LDN and now EDINBURGH!
Last year we launched The PlatformLDN in association with Drew Gasparini and The PlatformNYC.
What's The Platform?
The Platform is a concert series that runs either side of the Atlantic sharing the work of talented, contemporary composers and the voices of some of the cities' finest performers. We are excited to launch The Platform Edinburgh running throughout the festival, featuring new writers and singers every week.
- Drew Gasparini is an American composer and singer/songwriter who has shared the stage with the likes of Jason Mraz and Third Eye Blind, was a contributing composer for NBC's musical series SMASH and his newest musical Make Me Bad is currently in development and will receive its world premiere at Seattle's Balagan Theatre in 2015.
SUPPORT NEW WRITING AND GET TWENTYSOMETHING TO EDINBURGH BABY!
Risks and challenges
We will be performing at theSpace on the North Bridge (www.thespaceuk.com) which is an incredible location just off the Royal Mile, where hundreds of people throw caution and flyers to the wind using the most outrageous techniques to get themselves and their shows noticed.
£8,000 is the bare minimum when it comes to taking a show (especially a musical) to the Fringe but with your help we'll be able to share all this exciting new work and talent with Edinburgh and everyone involved at the festival.
What will your support go towards we hear you cry!!
Getting us there and making sure we have somewhere to sleep...even if it's a sofa!
We've prepared plenty of rewards that you can get your hands on when you pledge your support to new writing and we think they're pretty awesome...even if we do say so ourselves.
Over the past two years we have ploughed all the company's profit back in to future projects because we believe in the importance of this work...sometimes we've even worked two or three jobs at once to make sure we can afford to keep the creativity flowing...but this is our biggest venture to date and your support will make a world of difference.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
