Annie Diamond and I are embarking on our first publishing effort, Annie as the poet she's always been and myself as a first-attempted publisher and editor. Turtledove Press will be small and independent with limited run works focusing on poetry and photography. A collection of Annie's poems will be the first book published under the name Turtledove Press.
Annie Diamond is a promising young poet who has completed studies at Barnard College and Oxford University and will be going on to complete an MFA at Boston University. She was recently awarded a residency at the prestigious MacDowell Colony, the United States' oldest artist colony, and has won a slew of other awards. The book, tentatively titled Nostos, will include 25 recent poems by Annie, many of which began during her MacDowell Colony residency. Katy Nelson will assist with book design.

Risks and challenges
The risk? Lies fully with a satisfactory printer. We've identified a number of printers in the city and have decided to work with the independent bookstore McNally Jackson, who run a side business of publishing and printing. They have received good reviews from other and we have high hopes for a successful working relationship!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
