Just a few hours left! If you haven't yet, please back our Kickstarter to take at least one photo of every single mile of the Arizona-Mexico border.

Whether it's $5 or $500, every contribution is important and greatly appreciated. Back "Panorama de la linea" on Kickstarter to ensure we can get out in the field to tackle this unprecedented reporting project.

We've hit both of our challenge goals, resulting in $3,000 in matching donations to the project, but we can still grow our backing as the clock ticks down to the deadline.

If you haven't yet, please pledge your support for ambitious journalism by backing this project, right now. While the reporting work is only beginning, our Kickstarter drive is drawing to a close on Saturday night.

If you're already invested in our Kickstarter campaign, please help spread the word — you'll be helping us nearly triple our original fundraising goal!

Thanks to Lara Rubio for the supporting us with two amazing challenge grants, and to Donna Somma and Polly Basore for backing us at the $1,000 level. In fact, since Polly's donation was made outside the Kickstarter system, our fundraising total for Panorama is already over $14,000! If enough backers kick in over the next few hours — before midnight Mountain time — we just might triple our goal!

In return for your backing, you can receive a photograph from the project, a limited-edition hardcover book, have dinner with the reporting team, be an "editor for the day" or even fly along with us as we document parts of the border from the air. Plus, you'll be eligible for a tax deduction.

Spread the word

If you have already become a backer, we could still use your help — encourage your friends, family and colleagues to pledge, even if it's just $5.

What the border really looks like

Getting beyond the bluster of D.C. politicians, we'll paint a vivid and accurate picture of the border. Every dry wash, cliff, mountain peak and broad valley. The people that live there, the border agents who keep watch, and those who are trying to cross the desert.

We'll take you there, but we need your help to cross Saturday's finish line. Donate right now to invest in ambitious journalism about the borderlands.

Thanks so very much to everyone who's backed us, and helped spread the word!
