We have partnered with Paradox Interactive to make a scale model of the Ether Drake as a prelude to our upcoming Kickstarter project for a full tabletop Stellaris game.
We hope to show all Stellaris players the quality of our miniatures, passion for creating them, and give a brief taster of the kind of experience you can expect with the full game campaign.
The miniatures are cast in stunning detail, rendered at a small scale perfect for displaying in a cabinet or keeping watch while you hit Create New at 2am.
Making a pledge is as easy as selecting what you want and hitting "Select This Reward".
If you'd like to pick up multiple different miniatures (or lots of the same - Drake fleet anyone?), simply add up the cost of what you want, pick a pledge level, and up your pledge amount.
We'll be running a backer survey after the campaign ends - most likely using Backerkit - which will let you select which miniatures you want for the amount you pledged.
We have a number of exciting Stretch Goals that we hope to unlock! While this Kickstarter is for the Ether Drake, there are plenty of other Leviathans that would look great on your table!
We're extremely proud of the Ether Drake miniature in all its different sizes and colours!
These miniatures are cast in resin, and so will need assembly and painting to end up looking their best. Resin miniatures are easy to put together, and take paint really well. However, they do sometimes need heating and bending to glue together perfectly, and sometimes have small holes to fill using modelling putty.
We always recommend washing the miniatures before assembly, using warm soapy water. If you need to bend any parts (the wings look great if they're bent out in an imposing way), heating them with hot water or a hair dryer will do it!
You can glue the miniatures together with superglue.
You can paint your miniatures however you like! We always advise undercoating the miniature with a spray coat of paint (either with a can or an airbrush) and then painting them with water-based acrylic paints.
The Clear Orange Ether Drake doesn't necessarily need painting though! It looks great as is, although the clear resin also takes paint with no problems, which means you could have translucent wings, a glowing inside, and regular outsides!
The 2-Up Ether Drake is a big one! These massive kits will take a little more work to prepare, but make an amazing display piece!
Fin, our in-house painter has put this one together and added some hefty magnets under the wings - that way it's easy to transport if you want to take it somewhere to show off!
Risks and challenges
Stellaris™ is owned by Paradox Interactive, and the miniatures in this Kickstarter are produced by TTCombat. While this campaign is relatively straightforward, products presented on this Kickstarter page and during the campaign may be subject to change in order to meet the expectations of the Paradox Interactive license agreement.
By pledging on this Kickstarter you acknowledge that the final look and contents of the pledges may change and differ from what is presented at the start of the campaign.
TTCombat produces all of its miniatures in-house and as such we cannot see any risks that we cannot overcome. We will handle everything from making the miniatures to packing and shipping. We've run many successful Kickstarter campaigns in the past - all of which have been successfully fulfilled (or are in the process of being fulfilled).
That said, issues can arise during a project, which means delays and changes to the final fulfilment are always possible, although we're getting pretty good at this by now!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
