Have a question?
NOTE: There's been some confusion of late between two similarly named projects I had on Kickstarter. This is my first project, the Daybook. The second project, the Daybook Perpetual Planner, is located here:
That project is still in production and if you want updates on it, please check the page above. Sorry for any confusion!
Hello there, KS backers: I'm getting some returned books from internationals that were shipped in October. Check with me if yours is MIA. Update on the total project including web backer number update by this weekend. <3
KICKSTARTER BACKERS (1-322): all of you have now been shipped, unless I don't have your survey and thus your address to ship to you with! I'll keep trying to track you down in other ways...but it's really helpful if you contact me. Backers 322 on: I'm still packing you up if you haven't received yours already. Please keep checking updates. <3
Thank you for the answer and the update! I saw that my number is among the ones sent today, I'm eager to get it in my mailbox! :)
@Gwenn, we must be synchronizing. Finally got the shipping money - and the being able to stop traveling long enough to get these books out! And we are much closer to done. I had friends come today and do a "shipping party" - and we've gotten almost every Kickstarter backer (through #320 or so) packed up and ready to go. Some already went to the post office today and some will be going tomorrow. About to post a backer number update. -T
the last shipping update was almost 2 months ago. Is everything OK? Do you know when you'll be able to send the last books?
July 8 quick update: Thank you to everyone who has been contacting me with updated emails and shipping addresses and/or filling out their Kickstarter surveys so I know where to ship your books. Shipments are trickling out and should resume fuller force again this week now that rent is paid and I can budget shipping money. More formal updates (one later today and then forward going) will include new shipment information.
@Jennifer: Update going up right now - more went out this week, and yours was among them as I have hit that level of the numbers now! Thank you for checking.
Any updates on when shipping will resume for those of us still waiting?
thanks for the update, Tamara
@Michelle - I had to slow down last month because of a combination of dissertation deadlines and lack of postage funds (I was laid off from my job in October, and this project was over budget). This week I have gotten a freelance paycheck and dissertation deadlines are over, so I am resuming. Will post an update with the most recent numbers later today once I finish going over the two databases to make sure I have the most recent data. Thank you for your continued patience. I know this has been ridiculous.
The last update on shipping was over a month ago...can you let those of us who haven't had theirs shipped yet know what's going on? Thanks.
The Kickstarter for the Daybook Planner has about 20 more hours to go and is very, very close to its stretch goals. Please check it out! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tsiuda/the-ancient-egyptian-daybook-perpetual-planner
@Terry It is gorgeous, isn't it? Megan really outdid herself. I'm so glad it arrived!
Got my Daybook yesterday, it's beautiful! My Egyptian-crazy friend will LOVE it.
March 25 shipment out - Daybook Planner (a separate, new Kickstarter) has 5 days left to meet two stretch goals. Please check out the latest update! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tsiuda/the-ancient-egyptian-daybook/posts/1841563
More shipments out - see today's update. Daybook Planner project is at 60%.
The companion Daybook Planner is now being Kickstarter-ed on its own campaign page! See https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tsiuda/the-ancient-egyptian-daybook-perpetual-planner for more details.
Please watch this space for something very important.A Daybook companion planner project will be going live on February 28!
@Tory - those are going out today with the packets that have been sent, to those people such as yourself who responded to the survey! You should start seeing them in the mail by the end of the week. I hope that people respond when they get their things and share!
Lots of updates about the books, how about the postcards?
Books are here! See update 54 - shipping has begun.
See update 51 for important information! The books are on their way from the printer, and now everyone else can start ordering too.
@Karl: Thank you so very much. I'm happy you're enjoying it. Now to get the rest of it out there!
Am very much enjoying the PDF version. Thanks for staying the course.
VERY EXCITING AND IMPORTANT NEWS THAT NEEDS TO BE IN ALL CAPS!!!!! (YES I AM SHOUTING THIS NEWS IS THIS GOOD WOOOOO)
EBOOK DOWNLOADING INFORMATION has been sent to all Kickstarter backers, and is about to be sent to all Egyptiandaybook.com backers! Please check your email for important information. If for some reason you don't get any...contact me immediately! More information on print copies distribution and other perks will be coming as soon as I have firm dates for delivery from the printers....
@Terry - I've been working on this as first priority for the last week (took time off from work to focus on it) and am in layouts. We are definitely much closer to done. Perfection is never going to happen, and I agree with you. I was going to post an update this week but then wanted to see if I could get it to the printer and then make that major announcement! Still a couple of days left. I expect you'll definitely be able to make it a gift this year - and gods willing it will be off to the printers by the end of this month. It is happening, just much more slowly than I ever wanted or imagined, and I cannot express how frustrated and and sorry I am about that. I thank you for the patience that has clearly gone beyond the call of duty.
It's now September 16, 2016. I bought into this campaign hoping to give a dear, Egypt-loving friend a great Christmas present - in 2013. Perfection is the enemy of Good. When will we get out merch?
@Neil Jacobson: I certainly hope it isn't. Not a great record to have. Starting a new book in the midst of the project (which is essentially what happened, with adding all the Chronokrater information) is generally not a great plan for meeting one's deadline expectations. First Kickstarter project lesson definitely learned.
WOW! Two and a half years late and counting. Is that a Kickstarter record?
There's a new update! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tsiuda/the-ancient-egyptian-daybook/posts/1505945
@PSVL: When the book goes to print I'll be contacting all backers to make sure I have the most recent information. Thank you!
Quick question: do you have our addresses yet for this (no matter when it will all be sent)? Mine changed in the last few months, so I wanted to make sure you've got the most current one for when the time comes…Hope all is going very well indeed with you meanwhile!
@Dave - about to post an update. :)
What is the status on getting the books?
Updates (and information on backer gifts) are up - #35 is for backers only and #36 is for everybody!
Welcome to the new "spotlight" page! Updates are forthcoming now that we've switched over to the new format.
Update? Just passed 2 years since successful funding.
@Terry - I am about to post an update. Still battling with the Time Lords, and the shortened holiday schedules for printers and editors do not have me very confident. Adding that material, which is awesome don't get me wrong - essentially turned this into a new book so it is taking quite a bit to get it all into shape.
Do make sure you have the calendar that I did send out in August, because that's at least got the information in it! More in a few minutes as I edit that statement. -T
I don't suppose we'll get the book in time to mail it for Christmas now...?
@Terry: I am the worst with that, and definitely going to have to get a new reading glasses prescription after this is done! This type is sooooo tiny.
Thanks for the update, Tamara! I can be patient if I know it's coming along. Be sure to rest your eyes every hour or so - look out the window, or across the room. (I know: Thanks Mom LOL) This sounds wonderful!
Yay! Thanks! :)
@Michael Farles: We did update that but the server crashed and reverted to an earlier version apparently. Thank you for pointing that out - it should be working now correctly.
@Baroness and everybody else - update incoming! Lots has been going on.
Any update about the project? Hope all is well :)
http://www.egyptiandaybook.com mentions a March 2014 release. Could you revise to include the intended release date?
Like many of your backers, I'm eagerly looking forward to the actual product! A brief update would be appreciated.
Just a note to say I'm perfectly content waiting until you're satisfied with the quality of the product! Have fun in the UK!
Check the updates page for the latest! You can also check at our official website, egyptiandaybook.com. I currently in England, doing a private lecture for some of our backers. It's a beautiful country and we're about to spend a day with the Egyptian artifacts in the British Museum!
Another important note to everyone: there are still quite a few spaces on my Library List! I'll post what I have after I get home from a conference this weekend...but if you know of a library that would like to receive a free Daybook, and you haven't already contacted me about it, now is the time. See Update 24 for more information on how to do that.
