We’re Alex and Marcus, the creators of „True Boxers“. Our journey started almost more than a year ago when we decided to take a different approach towards how boxer shorts are made.
Our mission is to create durable boxer shorts with fun prints without compromising on fit, quality and ethical production.
Most brands these days purposely make goods which are meant to fall apart after a few years. We want to create boxer shorts that are fashionable, but made from materials that are durable. We call our mission 'Sustainable Fashion'.
In other words, True Boxers aims to be an apparel label that enables you to have sustainable but still fashionable boxer shorts. We’ve spent the past year vigorously researching properly certified cotton suppliers with the same mindset as us, and manufacturers with fair working conditions.
After a long journey we found our perfect match, our supplier in Spain and our manufacturer in Portugal - both are committed to the integrity of their staff. It’s been our goal to only use certified poplin cotton as well as environmentally friendly dye. This ensures that your pair of boxers is made of the softest, most comfortable and sustainable fabric possible.
Help us eliminate fast fashion & move towards sustainable fair fashion. We believe that creativity and confidence leads individuals to generate true sustainable changes in this world. With our product we want to set a new benchmark for men’s underwear.
Design. Our design is unique, fun and timeless.
Perfect Fit. We’ve been working closely with our manufacturer over the past 4 months in order to develop the perfect fit. So far we have created almost 20 different prototypes in order to find the optimal cut.
Sustainability. There is constant pressure to keep pushing for a higher level of sustainability, both environmentally as well as socioeconomically. Our certified fabric from Spain contains environmentally friendly dye.
Made in Europe. Our Boxers are made in Portugal and assembled in Austria under fair labour standards. We believe that fair wages result in high quality products. Change is underway, but we think it needs to progress at a faster pace. That’s why we’ve created True Boxers. It’s our business model for a global change in purchasing and supplier practices, workers’ rights and social responsibility. We’re going further than any fashion company has ever gone, and we’re encouraging you to follow our lead.
Soft Waistband. Our Boxers feature an elasticized waistband and a softer fabric than most other waistbands for superior comfort.
Durable. Our fabrics and stitching are of exceptional durable quality, in order to ensure our products to be long lasting. We use the lockstitch method which results in a much stronger seam that is difficult to rip and is less prone to puckering.
100% Cotton. We use high-quality cotton that has an extra-long staple – what this means is that it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric. Our fabric costs may be higher, but we think that the difference will be noticeable.
Poplin Quality. Poplin is a plain weave, which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, garments made out of poplin look very crisp when ironed. Our boxers are made in poplin quality with 120 grams which gives you the feeling that you’re wearing a very lightweight fabric.
Quality Control. And of course all of our True Boxers must pass our “hand-check".
For our Kickstarter Campaign, we’ve designed 6 unique and timeless boxer shorts for men.
Because we are a young startup company, we aren’t able to afford the minimum order quantities (just over € 20,000) required to complete a full production run of our TRUE BOXERS. We`ve spent the last 12 months developing our prototypes and our mission.
Now we need your help and backing to reach these minimum order quantities to get TRUE BOXERS up and running. We think everyone deserves a pack of unique boxers for the world to see. If we reach our goal, we’ll be able to purchase the minimum order quantities and deliver TRUE BOXERS straight to your doorstep.

Risks and challenges
No one wants to see a good idea executed badly. We have worked extremely hard over the last year to deliver a product you will love and we can be proud of. After intense research we know the pitfalls, we know the snags to watch out for. But most importantly, we know how to control for quality.
High-volume production could pose any number of challenges, but we’ve partnered with a professionally established manufacturing facility. Our sourcing partners have plenty of experience procuring from small and large factories, and the process isn’t any different this time. We've gone through at least 20 prototypes that have gone through extensive testing, including wash and color fastness, fabric weight testing, comfort trials with objective lab measurements. We’ve even covered the final delivery of the product. Our specialized fulfillment center in Vienna is fully operational and handles shipping beautifully.
We partnered with the right people, completed all sampling, and sourced the best fabrics, so we’re confident to ship a pair of boxer shorts that will exceed all your expectations. We believe in transparency and communication, so our backers will be the first to know about any unplanned hurdles or delays, although, at this point in the project, they are highly unlikely.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
