What is Circuit Breakers?
Circuit Breakers is a top down action shooter, featuring a massive array of interesting weapons and a horde of killer robots. Battle for control of a manufacturing plant while racking up combos and upgrades. Connect controllers for up to 4 player cooperative play and battle together for points while surviving endless waves of enemies.
The game revolves around collecting energy crystals that power your guns. Killing robots causes them to explode violently, leaving you to collect the shards flying across the room. We found that collecting your friend's crystals will not make them happy, so heads up there.
Our 3 main goals for Circuit Breakers are as follows:
- 1. A couch co-op shooter that's easy to pick up and play with friends.
- 2. A highly replayable game made possible by procedural generation and interesting game modes.
- 3. A game that's fun from the moment you pick it up, til the moment you break your friend's arms after he steals all your crystals.
Right now, Circuit Breakers has 4 characters; Aldo ,Shelby, Samson and Tay. Each character is like a class, they have their own set of guns they can use.
Aldo, who uses machine guns, starts with the well-balanced Repeater. With energy, he'll get his Machine Gun, then his Heavy Machine Gun whose rate of fire is unmatched
Shelby uses shotguns. Her Spread Gun upgrades quickly into her signature Shotgun, then her Super Shotgun which can blow away multiple enemies in a single shot!
Samson uses explosives. he goes from his Compact Missile to the powerful Missile Launcher, and then to the Volley Missiles which can blow up entire crowds.
Tay gets her Beam Rifle, which fires a long and precise burst of shots. A little power and she'll get the Fusion Beam, and then the Photonic Beam, allowing her to deal massive damage by piercing through enemies.
Why are you using Kickstarter?
Circuit Breakers isn't the most expensive project in the world - currently we've got a team of a whole 2 guys working on it, and even then we can't do it full time - but complications are beginning to pile up and it's become very clear that without wages we simply cannot afford to continue working on Circuit Breakers, which means that it'll die before it even reaches market!
Contributing even just a few dollars will help us make our vision a reality, and even though Circuit Breakers is the best it's ever been the content is too sparse to be released as it is.
Kickstarter funding will predominantly go toward wages for our team of employees working on the project and stretch goal money will go toward purchase of equipment, licenses, and commissioning contract workers to get their hands into the things that we can't do alone
What exactly am I Kickstarting?
- Boss Battles!
- More Maps and Areas to play on!
- More Guns!
- More Enemies!
- More Polish than a bowling ball!
When will Circuit Breakers be out? And on what platforms?
As for the release, we're thinking October at the latest, fingers crossed for September. That said, pledge 10$ as a backer and we'll send you the keys to let you join us that much earlier in a Kickstarter-exclusive private beta! In addition, we're going to be exhibiting Circuit Breakers at two local conventions in the Dallas area.
ScrewAttack Gaming Convention (July 17th - 19th) (BEEN THERE DONE THAT!)
Let's Play Gaming Expo (August 1st - 2nd)
If you're in the area, be sure to drop by! you can get the chance to play the game a little early, tell us what you think about the project, or just bum around at the booth all day and make us look like we're super popular!
Thanks for having a look at our page!
Risks and challenges
Sometimes things go wrong, and our projects take a little more time than expected. We've created a bit of leeway in order to compensate for our outstanding ability to not hit deadlines and we plan on keeping you updated through the coming months.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
