Tristan Mackay started out busking on the streets of Leeds to try and get his music noticed.
In 2010 he was discovered by Grammy award winning producer Martin Levan, and together with a world class team of musicians including Peter Van Hooke and Paul Carrack (Mike and the Mechanics) and John Garden (Scissor Sisters/Marina and the Diamonds) they made his debut album 'Out Along the Wire'.
The album was funded independently and released under Tristan's own label 'Battered Hat Records.'
The album received extensive media coverage including The Evening Standard, The Sun, Channel 5 News, BBC London and Radio 2.
It went straight to number 1 in the British Blues Chart and received 4 and 5 star reviews in the music press.
In the year since it's launch, Tristan has toured with Beth Hart, Jo-Shaw Taylor, Eric Johnson and Robben Ford.
Tristan is now Kickstarting his second studio album, once again with Grammy award winning producer Martin Levan, and the same world class band.
Risks and challenges
All creative projects have the potential for delaying problems.
However, this is not Tristan's first album and we are confident we can hit our official release of early 2014. We have allowed a lot of extra time to allow a comfortable buffer for its creation and distribution.
We promise to communicate at all times with our backers, and keep everyone in the loop throughout the process of the album coming together.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
