For almost 2 years, our indie team has worked so hard to create a magical online multiplayer experience set in Africa.

If video game development itself was a video game, we could say that we're on "the final boss" level for Voodoo. To get through this, we're asking you to join our tribe and carry this project to the rightful end of its journey with us. An amazing new game especially for Shadow of the Colossus fans and lovers of online multiplayers!
In Voodoo you are reborn into the wildlife of fantasy primal Africa.
You must master the game of survival in a vast open-world where gathering resources and hunting for food are tasks that can always end in clashes with other tribes.
Also, it is known that mystical colossal creatures roam the face of the earth...
Being avid players of survival games and die-hard fans of Shadow of the Colossus, we designed a combat system that feels fluid whether you find yourself in battle with other players, or facing off with... um, larger enemies :) Check out these gameplay videos made by some of our earliest fans to see the combat system in action thus far.

In Voodoo, you're responsible for clothing yourself, acquiring food, crafting weapons and instruments, building your village, and growing your tribe. For this reason we've focused so much on developing a crafting system that gives you the freedom to create the tools you need to reach your objectives.

Shadow of the Colossus goes multiplayer! This was a large part of the brainstorming process that brought Voodoo to life. So, in an ancient African setting, you will battle Shadow of the Colossus-like giants known as "Izimu".
This particular Izimu is called "Ibamba-Khulu" and here is the story of its creation.
Defeat Colossi for the Magic of Evolution! The colossi in Voodoo are guardians of evolution. Defeating them will grant you totems that allow your tribe to advance in technology and unlock more crafting options!
Battle your first Izimu now! Grab any Kickstarter reward that gives you beta access and you will instantly join the ranks of the first Voodoo warriors to take on the Izimu! You'll also have the early opportunity to start exploring the in-game world map in your search for evolution. Yes. You can playtest several parts of the game even while we're still developing it and really join us in its creation!
Fantasy. Primal. Africa. Those were the buzzwords that were top-of-mind in our approach to graphics for Voodoo. So although the environment has a kind of low-poly feel to it, the textures fall richly on contrasting color-palettes.
We're creating an environment that gives a false sense of emptiness. Voodoo's world always seems to be calm and quiet but there are plenty of places to explore and make hideouts in. This can either mean wondrous discoveries or savage ambushes. Tread carefully...
You will find yourself wandering through some of the most unique landscapes in which we hope you can feel the spirits calling for exploration. There is still so much more that we want to bring to the game visually.
If you've watched our Gamescom 2016 Gameplay Trailer or our Art of Crafting video then you already have an idea of the soundscape that we'll be introducing in Voodoo. We're focusing a lot on ambient, tribal sounds to vitalize the ancient African atmosphere.
Your journey in Voodoo will be an evolving, thrilling, and even plot-twisting adventure. There will literally be dozens of hours of super-fun gameplay, exploration, and achievements for casual players and completionists alike.
Oh... And of course, that's if you succeed to survive the perils around every corner!
Voodoo was made with Unity and will go into early access on Steam, available for Windows in early 2017.
Like seasoned survivors, we're keeping an open-mind towards other platforms further into the future but this doesn't fall into our current planning in any way.
We're Brain in the Box, an independent game studio from Turin, Italy. We believe that videogames are powerful communication channels and a means to explore amazing new worlds. Voodoo, our flagship project, was born from this belief. We're eager to connect with people that feel the same about videogames and we intend to continue sharing fun, imaginative, and thought-provoking titles into the world. This is the beginning of our journey and we hope you join us.

We've been very humbled by the support we've received for Voodoo so far. There really is no way to thank you enough for supporting us! We hope that these Kickstarter rewards we've illustrated below express our gratitude.
• 1 Backer: If you're a backer and you bring in another backer, you can pick any 1 item from within the next pledge.
• 3 Backers: If you bring in 3 backers, you can pick an item from within the next pledge, and your name will appear on special stones in the game world with a little story about your heroics.

Here's a breakdown of all the rewards so you have a little more insight into exactly what you're getting!
We try our best to communicate the scope of possibilities and depth of gameplay that's possible in Voodoo. Chances are, if you're imagining amazing, breakthrough ideas for the game, so are we. Below are some of our stretch goals that we're bent on implementing should we surpass our mark. It would be a dream beyond a dream for us to go there together!
For an indie team out of Turin, you may be able to imagine that creating a game of this scope is quite the challenge. We worked marathons to bring the project near completion. We're hopeful that you follow our timeline backwards, see how steadily we kept at it, and understand that we need your final push to make this happen. But in three points:
- Collaboration: Survival is tribal! Our mantra says it all. We've always been open to feedback and even open-source development. It's our hope that you won't only help us fund the completion of this project, but that you'll really get involved to make it richer.
- Operation Costs: We're an indie team working on our first Steam title. This really means that we're always operating on a shoestring budget. This has strained progress on the project and we're looking for a means to ensure we maintain our artistic focus. We don't want to rush and put out a half-baked cake because of time pressure.
- Improvements: Voodoo has some breathtaking gameplay in there already. Still, after our first playtest, we've got some great suggestions from the community for easy improvements. We want to honor our commitment to excellence and give you the best.

Risks and challenges
The risk that exists for every creative endeavor is primarily that of completion. Unforeseen things happen. We're realistic and can't claim to be bulletproof. However, playtest access for the game is an option for backers. We want our backers to play the game even while we still develop it so they can give us real-time feedback.
