About this project
We all emerged from the water and are more than 2/3 made of this. We hold within our skin a reservoir that allows our life to exist. We mirrors to each other, we carry and amplify vibrations, we are mediums of growth and can be museums of pollution and stagnation. Symbolically, water holds the creative visions of our dreams and ignites conductivity for change.
As an artist, I seek models in nature to answer my big questions. The sounds I make become the product of equations between nature's induction of my voice and my humble mirror-like reflection of her magnificence. It has shaped me and healed me for the past 16 years as long as I have been writing and singing with strings and frets. My goal is to move beyond my own little pond through human-powered conductivity and access the reservoir of our shared oceanic roots. Through the music I make, my intention is to heal the water that embodies our existence. Heal the water ways of the earth, our bodies, and inspire an awareness that will reduce the distraction and disregard for our most valuable and most waited resource.
I am recording an album dedicated to manifesting global health and wealth. I’ve written eight songs that embody and explore aspects of my connection with the water within myself and my environment. Through this fundraiser I will raise money to make and share this music. I am creating a new channel through which currency may flow.
The problems within us are reflected in our environment. Industrial pollution becomes a part of our being. The blockage and control of our waterways represent the blockages and disconnect that we experience within ourselves. The amount of water wasted and polluted effect the development of our future. We all depend on it to be clean, to be fed and to be connected.
This is what inspires me and this is what I dedicate myself to. To sing to heal, to reflect, to educate, to connect, to inspire those who want to sing, reflect, heal and connect. These songs will be performed on sound systems powered by bicycle energy and will be traveling through the landscape in as small of a carbon footprint as possible.
How the wheels turn
I have been touring for the past 2 years with the Pleasant Revolution, which is a group of bands and solo musicians who travel by bike and by train, carrying bike-powered generators to power the sound system we play through. This is a human powered movement now happening by various other conscious and inspired groups that spawned from the San Francisco Bicycle Music scene into Chico, CA, Eugene, OR, London, UK, Vienna, Austria, and this year may spread into Colorado, Nevada, Mexico, and northern California. We empower ourselves when we protect what is our life.
The goal of this project is to make an album of original music that contributes to this movement of people-em-powered sound. I intend that it inspires people in a very personal way to stop taking for granted: water, the voice of their emotions, and our connection to our source of being. How do we take this for granted and suppress ourselves with the glut of the modern lifestyle we swallow.
How this money will help
Recording costs money. I will be paying the musicians fare wages, renting equipment, and hiring an engineer to record, mix and master the music. I will be recording in a cabin at the artist-healing community (among other artists healing the environment through their art) called Sai Baba Lake, a nature preserve and bird sanctuary where water preservation is a focus among the inhabitants. The musicians who will be involved in this project include Ezra Lipp, Joey Chang, Geneva Harris, Andrew McGuire, Anthony Anderson and others. The recording space is made possible by the generosity of Star van Kreidt.Making this record will support my future work with bike-powered tours. You will be supporting a growing movement of environmentally conscious musicians and artists. The quality of the work will allow it to reach a greater audience. I need your support to allow this music to exist.
Thank You for your time! BLESSINGS and LOVE to YOU
