About this project
The TREBLE HAMMOCK brings a whole new level of awesome to the hammocking industry! Being off the ground solves many outdoor comfort issues but that is only the beginning. Not only does the TREBLE HAMMOCK keep you off the ground but it does so in a way that cradles you in a zero gravity ergonomic position. This takes all the pressure off your lower back, knees, and ankles. Being propped up like in a recliner you will enjoy the view of your surroundings while feeling perfectly comfortable. When night comes the TREBLE HAMMOCK is easily converted to sleeper mode by moving carabineers from the recliner loops to the sleeper loops. This adjustment makes it so you can lay flat on your back or on your side. Both recliner mode and sleeper mode can be converted to two person mode. The divider strap will separate the hammock into two bunks so you can share it without squishing into each other.
The TREBLE HAMMOCK is super versatile because you need it that way. Recliner by day… sleeper by night and adjustable for two when you need to share it. But wait there’s more… it has a cover and a bug net!
The Treble Hammock was designed with priorities in mind. How much it weighs was priority number 5 following safety, comfort, full protection from the elements and multifunctionality. The whole setup weighs 13lbs making it perfect for base camping.
Treble Hammock Solutions to Hammocking Issues
Cold Butt Syndrome- The Treble Hammock is designed to hold any ole blanket underneath. Just tuck it over the seat strap and the head strap where it will stay nice and snug to your backside keeping you warm and toasty.
Hyperextended knees- The adjustable seat strap lifts the knees.
Back Pain- Having the knees lifted takes all the pressure off your lower back.
Calf Pressure- There is no calf ridgeline like with standard hammocks.
Ankle Strain- By supporting the knees the seat strap has removed the weight off the legs thus taking the pressure off the ankles.
Limited View- During the day while in recliner mode the Treble Hammock will prop you up to see the world around you.
Worrying About Your Gear- Your gear will always be with you and within reach. Safe from the elements, critters, and theft.
Shoulder Squeeze- There is none…
Claustrophobia- you will have all the room you could ever want and then some.
Motion Sickness- The Treble Hammock will not sway. The toe side will feel a slight bounce now and then.
Instability Fears- Being tensioned between three points the Treble Hammock is very stable and easy to roll in and to roll out of.
Sharing the Hammock- One of the best parts about the Treble Hammock is that you can share it without squishing into each other. Whether in recliner mode or sleeper mode the divider strap separates the hammock into two bunks. Even if you don't weigh the same you'll still have your equal space.
Finding Trees- Hammocking trees are very different than Treble hammocking anchor points. Treble hammocking anchor points can be anywhere from 10ft to 30ft apart and as low as 3ft off the ground. And because the Treble hammock can be hung on an angle the toe side can be anchored straight to the ground. The anchor points do not have to be in a perfect triangle either just lengthen one of the head side straps and the hammock will turn. This works best when trees are farther apart.
Weight Limits- The Treble Hammock is the answer for the big and the tall.
The comfortable height limit is 6’8” and the weight limit is 600lbs. It’s built like a tank so you don’t have to worry about whether or not it’s going to break… It won’t.

Trent’s Treble Hammock Story
I have always really wanted to love hammocks I just haven’t been able to stay comfortable for more than 10 or 15 minutes in one. I have tried all the tricks. Maybe it’s my 290lbs, back surgeries, and clausterphobia that is making it tough, but none the less I still wanted to be comfortable in a hammock.
When I was a kid we used to make twine huts. We would take bailing twine and weave netlike platforms in between the trees. We would make multiple levels and then spend the night. It was awesome!
In July 2013 I went along with my two boys and the boy scouts backpacking into the high Uinta Mountains. I didn’t bring a tent or hammock. I brought twine and a tarp. My plan was to build a twine hut to sleep in. I wanted to be off the ground and perfectly comfortable. After working half the day on it, it only worked for a little while. My body weight slowly destroyed it (I guess I’m a lot bigger now than back in the day. Haha) but for a couple hours it was ergonomically glorious. I ended up sleeping on the ground under a big pine tree but, I came away with a determination to recreate that comfort. I wanted a quick and easy twine hut made of fabric that I could just anchor to the trees and be done.
Three anchor points are easier to find than four so I chose to go with a triangle shape. The ah-ha moment came when I drew an interior line from one side to the other about where the knees would be positioned. This could be a strap to lift the knees and support the body in an ergonomic position.
Bam!!! I think I did it! I got so excited I took the boat cover off my boat and started cutting. I borrowed a sewing machine and you tubed a few sewing lessons. Next thing you know I was trying it out and it and the concept worked! Kinda...
I spent the next 7 months prototyping, field testing, fine tuning, and reading patents to make sure my idea was legit. This process was filled with ups and downs requiring all my courage and drive to get to a finished design worthy of my approval. When it was ready I filed for a patent and started a Kickstarter campaign which raised $24,000 in 36 days. It didn’t break any records but with that I got my first production run made.
I didn’t stop there. I have constantly been working on ways to improve the Treble Hammock experience. For the past year I have been field testing improvements and working with a world class designer and a manufacturing company that not only has 40 years of experience but they guarantee the highest quality, correct workmanship, and that it will be on time. It has been a lot of work getting the Treble Hammock to do everything I have wanted it to do but, I have to say it is dialed in and awesome! The design is complete and the manufacturing set up has been done. Now, I’m just hoping this Kickstarter will take off.
I love the Treble Hammock and the experiences I’ve had because of it. It is just so cool to be so comfortable in places I wouldn’t have been comfortable in otherwise. Being this comfortable allows you to really enjoy and appreciate your surroundings.
I can’t fully express how cool and fun it is to hear from others who have bought a Treble Hammock and experienced this for themselves. It’s just so cool…

Risks and challenges
I have spent a year with my design and manufacturing company working out all the details. This is my third campaign and I have been determined to make sure that it runs smoothly. I have delayed the launch to get everything perfect and now there is nothing left to do but to place the order. I am hoping to start shipping out in November but stated January just to be safe. I will keep you updated as things progress through the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
