Check out these great reviews:
Everyday Carry: "They designed the Trek with thoughtful details and the best materials on the market to create the toughest and most reliable knife you can carry."
The-Gadgeteer: "The Trayvax Trek Field Knife is an elegant knife for a more civilized age."
Globo Surfer: "this product would be a great addition to your survival kit."
Skeletonized Frame: Provides a lightweight design that is easy to clean and maintain, can easily be adorned with paracord or handle scales. Additionally it can be lashed and used for survival tasks. Notched 'jimping' on spine of knife provides textured grip for thumb when extra control is needed.
Dimensions: Overall length of 7.9 inches and a blade of 3.5 inches, allowing for a firm grasp and cutting when performing detailed tasks
3.5" Hybrid Blade: Creates a blade with a gently angled swept main edge for controlled carving and chopping, leading into a condensed belly section for delicate slicing or caping and finishing into a 40º leading edge for a durable tip all combining to make a Trayvax signature blade.
3/4 flat bevel: The long grind allows for a predictable cutting experience while retaining a full spine for increased strength when chopping or batoning.
Pommel: The butt of the blade has a balanced point that can be used as a blunt spear point when duty calls for it
Stainless Steel Options: We’re offering a choice between two excellent steels, both of which are stainless steel alloys, ensuring your blade will hold up to years of abuse in any environment.
Standard 440C: A high-carbon, high-alloy steel achieving corrosion resistance through the addition of 16-18% chromium. This material is a tried and true choice for a variety of applications requiring a tough and hardenable steel. You’ll find it used in industrial application for roller bearings and races, valve components such as seats, seals and nozzles in highly caustic environments. Due to its high carbon content and ability to be precisely hardened it makes an excellent choice for use in high end knives. It is an industry standard used for fine kitchen cutlery all the way to field and bowie knives.
While this is our more affordable option it should be taken seriously, it is an excellent more cost effective material that’ll hold an edge and perform with uncompromising reliability no matter what you throw at it.

Premium CPM S35VN: The cream of the crop when it comes to stainless knife steels, this material will deliver inexhaustible performance across the board. Originally created as an improvement upon S30V, a alloy created through the collaboration of Crucible Industries and legendary custom knife maker Chris Reeve. S35VN can be found in use almost exclusively on premium knives and is considered one of the best stainless steel alloys for performance blades.
This proprietary alloy blend lends itself well to a blade that is exceptionally hard, impossibly tough, and highly wear resistant all while being a breeze to sharpen. S35VN is a proven performer ensuring a knife that can be put through the wringer and retain an edge while being used and abused however your adventure calls for.

Finish: Finished with a satin bead blast, accented with precision CNC machined blade bevel and profile chamfer.
Balance: The blade is perfectly balanced right at the index finger notch, allowing for controlled cutting and a seemingly weightless action.
CNC machining allows us complete control over every detail of the knife while keeping production in house, relieving us of quantity minimums of mass production.
We spent months working on different blade shapes, materials testing and prototyping
We got a lot of practice heat treating knives by hand
and failed along the way
Dialing in heat treatment process.
Excessive demand: Since we are producing the Trek Field Knife in house, demand that exceeds our capacity may delay a portion of orders. Orders will be fulfilled on a first purchased basis.
Supply Chain: Unforeseen hurdles in supply of blade steels or leather may extend ship date.
Equipment failure: We are installing a second CNC machine in the coming month to allow additional capacity of this product. Delays in this process could extend ship dates for orders that are beyond our current machine's capacity
Risks and challenges
This is our first knife! So we built in a little cushion to our delivery date. That being said we may encounter issues in machining the new materials we are working with or the heat treating process because those are both new to us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
