We will send a survey to the email associated with your Kickstarter account on April 10th using the CrowdOx pledge manager system. You will be able to choose your add-on orders and provide your shipping information at that time. If you change addresses before we ship your rewards, you will be able to access your survey at this link anytime after April 10th:
If I order Salem 1692 or Tortuga 1667 will they include the stretch goals from their original campaigns?
Yes! All copies of Salem 1692, Tortuga 1667, and Deadwood 1876 that you get through this Kickstarter campaign will include all stretch goals from their respective campaigns. All games will be delivered together (estimated delivery in October).Last updated:
Once the Kickstarter campaign ends we’ll be working with our factory to produce the game and then have it shipped to our fulfillment centers around the world. We are currently planning on having the games delivered in October of this year, and we’ll keep you updated with any unforeseen circumstances. Our last two games were delivered on time to Kickstarter backers, and we’re confident that we can do it again! Note: if you order Salem or Tortuga these will also be delivered in October.Last updated:
Yes! Everything will still fit if you sleeve all cards with 56x87mm standard USA Game Size Sleeves from Mayday Games. If using thicker premium sleeves, we recommend that you sleeve only the 20 Safe cards so that everything will still fit. We’ve left room in the middle section of the box to place extra sleeved cards on top of the wooden platforms.
In the near future we will be releasing a Dark Cities “expansion book” that will give you room to place extra pieces or sleeved cards from Volumes 1, 2, and 3 inside.Last updated:
We're proud to reward our Kickstarter backers with discounts on the very 1st edition of the game, the lowest shipping costs we can offer, first-in-line knowledge and insight into the project, and a direct line of communication to us as the creators. We also take your feedback into account before launching production.
As a small publisher, it is very costly to manufacture the game in small batches that each contain special bells and whistles and “Kickstarter limited edition” pieces and cards. The reason we can put such great components in our game and keep the price low is because we can manufacture in large quantities and bring the per unit cost down. Kickstarter exclusives would force us to raise the prices on all copies of the game. Trust me, we’ve looked into this :)
That being said, there are some stretch goals and components that will only be available in the 1st Edition of the game, and the only way to guarantee that you will have the 1st Edition of the game is to get it through Kickstarter, since we don't know how soon we will need to re-print.
Thank you for your support in backing this project!Last updated:
Each game in the series will focus on a city and a year from history, accommodate at least 4-9 players, have a dark, mysterious, or secretive element in its gameplay, and will come in the same-sized faux book box. Each game is a standalone game that can be played without the others. Volume 1 is Tortuga 1667, Volume 2 is Salem 1692, and Volume 3 is Deadwood 1876! You can order any of the games in the series with add-ons during the campaign. We’re already hard at work on Volume 4 and beyond!Last updated:
No problem! Just view the “Add-On” section of this page, and add the appropriate amount to your pledge to cover all the games you’d like to add. After the campaign ends we’ll send out a survey that will allow you to add these items to your order using the extra money that you pledged. For example, if Jimmy selects the basic $23 reward level for a copy of Deadwood 1876 but pledges $63 instead because he wants to add on $20 for a copy of Tortuga 1667 and $20 for Salem 1692, after the campaign is over we’ll send him a survey and ask him how he wants to spend the extra $40. He’ll then be able to select the extra games he wants and we’ll send him all three games with no extra shipping costs. Message us if you have any questions!Last updated:
Since we now offer free US shipping and very low international shipping, we’re happy to be selling Deadwood at prices that are even cheaper than the earlybird levels of our previous two Kickstarter projects! We’re giving everyone a great deal on this game and we want everyone to have the same opportunity at the pricing, even if they hear about us a little later in the campaign. We’d love to have you on-board for the ride!Last updated:
For $300 you’ll get a full carton of 24 games. You can also add on more cartons of our games if you’d like (See add-on section). You’ll receive these games with the other backers (estimated delivery date is October), which means you’ll also have them several weeks before we release the game to the public. This means that you’ll be the first retailers in the world able to sell the game.Last updated:
