Adding Add-Ons Halfway to Our Goal!

First, let me thank all of you for an incredible beginning to our Kickstarter campaign. Thanks to your generous support, more than 650 backers pledged $50,000 in our first two days. That puts us halfway towards the project goal. Thank you! And thank you for sharing the campaign so that others can learn about Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption.

In this update, I want to share our add-ons. These are rewards that you may request individually by adding to your base pledge. For example, let’s say you back Hero-U at the $80 Boxed Memories level, but you also want that awesome “All Kinds of Heroes” t-shirt. Keep your pledge at the Boxed Memories tier, but pledge $120 instead of $80. If you live outside the United States, that will be $145 instead of $95. (Sorry, international shipping is very expensive.)

After the campaign, we will send you a survey in which you will tell us what you have added on to your basic tier pledge. We will generally mail add-ons separately from the game; shipping costs are included in the price.

Add-On Price List (includes postage and handling):

  • Most Wanted Poster            $250 to any destination (also appears in-game)
  • All Kinds of Heroes T-Shirt    $40 U.S. / $50 International

  • Set of Four 11x17 Posters     $40 U.S. / $50 International
  • Shawn’s Lucky Coin               $30 to any destination
  • Hero-Unicorn Varsity Letter    $30 to any destination
  • Hero-Unicorn Key Ring           $30 to any destination

Most Wanted Poster

It's Nice to Be Wanted
It's Nice to Be Wanted

Here’s a thing about rogues – they don’t always play by the rules. While they may think they are doing great and valuable deeds (that also happen to be profitable), law enforcement doesn’t always see it that way. The most troublesome rogues soon find themselves Wanted.

You too can be a Most Wanted Rogue thanks to the Rogues’ Gallery mockingly maintained near the Thieves’ Guild headquarters. Better yet, would you like to see a friend, foe, or rival show up as a sketch on a Wanted Poster along with a description of their crimes? Our artists will draw the sketch, and every Hero-U player will see the poster.

We will also send you a print of your Most Wanted Poster to put up on your wall at home or work. Proudly display your most heinous crimes for everyone to see.

The 2015 Hero-U “All Kinds of Heroes” t-shirt, designed by Eric Varnes, depicts all seven Hero classes – Warrior, Wizard, Rogue, Paladin, Bard, Chef, and Scientist. They all work together to make the world a better place. Wear it in pride and let the world know that you, too, are a quiet hero.

This t-shirt is suitable to wear while rescuing victims from burning buildings or cats from trees, playing in a charity soccer event, slaying a dragon, competing in a cooking competition, or helping a little old lady cross the street.

Eriq Chang, JP Selwood, and Eric Varnes created the lovely and inspiring Erana’s Tribute poster based on the “Erana’s Peace” and “Erana’s Meadow” locations in Quest for Glory. In this time of stress and racial and political tension, we can all use a little calmness and a place of peace and safety.

JP Selwood has extended the spirit of Erana’s Tribute with three new posters. “Komme nach Spielburg” invites you to revisit the town of Spielburg as featured in Quest for Glory 1. “Erana’s Serenity” reminds us that there is magic and joy in the world even in the coldest, most fearful times. "Visit Scenic Sardonia" invites you to the lovely Med Sea island where Hero University has its campus.

Shawn’s Lucky Coin

Shawn's Lucky Coin
Shawn's Lucky Coin

We could all use a bit of the Luck of the Eirish at times. Perhaps owning one of these custom limited-edition Lucky Coins will be just the talisman you need! It might also serve as your admission ticket to a life filled with adventure. The Lucky Coin was designed by Lori Cole and will be cast or stamped in metal.

For Shawn O’Conner, finding the Lucky Coin marks the end of his fledgling career as a thief and beginning or his quest to become a rogue hero. While attending Hero University, Shawn learns that the coin is a key to a far greater mystery that only he can solve.

Add-Ons Add Up to a Great Game!

Besides getting you some really nice limited-edition collectibles, every add-on you purchase helps us reach the Kickstarter goal and stretch goals. Your purchases can help us improve Hero-U. They also make great gifts for your friends.

All add-ons will be shipped in 2015, separately from the game. We've included shipping costs in the price list. Thank you for your extra contribution to Hero-U development.

Corrections to add-on prices: The Varsity Letter (a cloth Hero-Unicorn patch) is $25, not $30.

The key chain is $15, not $30, and that gets you TWO key rings - the original rectangular "Team Meep" key ring and the new round "Hero Unicorn" key ring. ("Ring" = "Chain", as far as I can tell. It's a plastic piece connected to a ring.)

Double backer here, I have faith that you will live up to the work we've had the pleasure of enjoying in the past. Please keep up the good fight!
