Recall of Cthulhu presents the horrors of the mythos in a way they were meant to be - cute and cuddly! This classic matching game can be played by up to four of the most deranged patients in the Sanatorium, as well as young cultists aged 4 and up!

The game can be played as a simple matching game, or the advanced game can be played which adds a small layer of complexity to the game.

Included in the game are 60 tiles representing 15 creatures, items, and places of the Cthulhu Mythos, as well as two player aids for playing the advanced game.

What better way of improving your memory for those dusty tomes of spells than a quick game of Recall of Cthulhu?

The basic game is a simple matching game, suitable for young cultists 4 and up. In turn, each player turns over two face down tiles. If the tiles match, he collects them, and then may turn over another set of two face down tiles. This continues until the player fails to turn over a matching pair. Then the next player goes, turning over tiles in an attempt to match them and collect them. The game ends when all the tiles have been matched, and whoever has collected the most tiles wins the game.

The advanced game plays similarly to the basic game. Each player in turn, turns over two tiles, but each tile has special abilities and different values. When turning over the tiles, players refer to the player aid to see what the tiles do. Some of the tiles can match other tiles - for example, the Necronomicon. The Necronomicon is worth 5 points at the end of the game, and can be matched with any Cthulhu, Yog Sothoth, or Azathoth tile!

Other tiles are worth more points based on the different tiles in your score pile. Y'ha-nthlei, the Deep One city, is worth -2 points, but it gains 1 point for each Deep One or Deep One hybrid you collect. So if you collect all four Deep Ones and a Deep One hybrid, each Y'ha-Nthlei tile will be worth 3 points instead.

Some tiles will even have an effect on game play. As an example, when you match the Mi-Go tile, you get to choose a tile, and the next player MUST reveal that tile first.

The advanced game ends when neither player makes a match consecutively and there are less than 12 tiles in play. At the end, each player counts up their points and the player with the most points wins! The advanced game is suitable for young cultists 8 and up.

If we make our goal, we will include the Dreamlands expansion for free. This is a set of 12 additional tiles that showcase aspects of the Dreamlands. It can be mixed right into the main tile set, for a total of 72 tiles.

We have ideas for additional tiles, which we will announce... when the stars are right.

Shipping to the USA is free. We have a shipping solution for our European and Canadian backers that should make distribution of our Kickstarter copies of Recall of Cthulhu much easier on the wallet. It will be an additional $10 to ship the first copy of the game to Europe and Canada. Shipping elsewhere in the world will be $20 for the first game.

At reward levels with multiple items shipping will be

USA: Free

Europe and Canada: $15

Rest of the World $25

Risks and challenges

Printing games sometimes causes challenges. We've kept the stretch goals minimal to ensure we can deliver EVERYTHING on time. Because the game is being printed overseas, issues that could come up to delay the project will most-likely be shipping problems or hold-ups in customs. Of course, the Great Old Ones may want to personally bless the shipment on it's way across the Pacific Ocean, who knows how long that will take? We'd probably have to wait till the stars are right.
