Hello, we are Mike and Dayne, two lifelong friends from New London County that went to preschool together and have been the best of friends since fifth grade. The two of us are opening a brewery in New London, CT with our good friend Jon and the support of our families. New London is a city close to our hearts and has often been the canvas for our creative endeavors throughout our friendship. The three of us have been brewing for the better part of a decade and brewing together for several years.
Tox Brewing Company is owned and operated by brewers and friends. We are not MBAs, nor are we venture capitalists. We are beer nerds and curiosity-filled explorers first and foremost. We love the science and artistic process of creating the perfect beer for every occasion, and we're looking forward to finally having a laboratory to tinker in. We have poured our spare time, brainpower, and savings into this project to bring it to life on our own terms. It takes so much money to open a brewery and it's hard to prioritize things that don't directly contribute to making and packaging beer. This is why we're asking for your help to cross the finish line!
We believe our taproom should reflect the inspiration behind our toxicology-themed beer, and we hope this campaign can bring that vision to life. We think our beer should be created and consumed in a place that embodies the inspiration behind it. We cannot wait to finally share the best beer we know how to make with as many people as possible. This project is meant to be fun and communal, and we want you to join our circle of goofballs and be part of our journey. Check out the options for involvement and GET INTO IT!
The names of all donors will be included on an original piece of art made by the brewers which will hang in our taproom forever, or at least until Benedict Arnold decides to burn down the city again. In addition, we have some cool stuff to give to donors at various levels. Be one of the first to get some of our merch and even some Kickstarter-exclusive items!
We are even giving away some cool limited edition bragging rights items as well as special access to beer!
We hope you consider joining us on our journey, and we look forward to seeing you at our taproom in New London!
Risks and challenges
Opening a brewery comes with risks, but we've cleared our biggest hurdles. We have our federal TTB permit, a commercial location, our equipment, and preliminary inspections complete. At this point, just a few odds and ends stand between us and brewing our first batch. These include:
-Final health inspection
-Certificate of occupancy
-Final state permit to operate a brewery (we currently have a provisional approval)
We don't forsee any issues with getting these last few things cleared up and getting onto hosting you in our taproom!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
