Over the past eight years I have grown my Torie Jayne branded blog to a well defined recognisable brand known for interiors, crafts and baking in a signature colour palette of pastels. A style even the editors of magazines have noticed: "her signature saturated pastels", "Author Torie has a good eye for classic designs with a modern twist to fill your home with colourful objects", "Torie Jayne's blog is a constant source of sweet pastel coloured inspiration".
In Feb 2017 I decided to use my extensive knowledge of the retail sector and my online presence to launch my own homeware brand. This was a perfect opportunity for me as a clothing specialist with over 20 years experience in the industry to use my trend and fashion expertise to develop and sell a design-led homeware branded range to a large online audience who is both aware of and understands the Torie Jayne brand.
With my added creative knowledge and design skills that I have honed over the past eight years in styling, photography and customer engagement I am perfectly positioned to promote my brand and inspire my customers through online technology.
WHAT I WANT TO DO
I need to raise a minimum of £5,000 in order to meet the minimum order quantities (MOQ's) from the manufacturers. I am using this Kickstarter campaign to facilitate pre-orders directly from the range, at a reduced retail price. If I reach my target I will have enough funds to go into production, fulfil your pledges/pre-orders and get products on shelves, both physically and online.
The plan for the future would be to role out the Torie Jayne Design homeware brand to a fully fledged lifestyle brand. A celebration of the home, Torie Jayne is a brand for the quality and style-conscious consumer. Providing unique, eclectic and affordable home accents and gifts in design-led signature colour palettes and designs.
UK BASED PRODUCTION:
British craftsmanship through and through using years of experience, expertise and creativity.
Everything in the Torie Jayne Brand is proudly from the UK. The kitchen linens are screen printed and hand made in Lincolnshire, the melamine chopping boards are moulded, printed and hand finished in Coventry, whilst the fine bone china is hand decorated and finished in Stoke-On-Trent using the traditional method of silk screen printed transfers.
I am so excited to finally introduce you to my new Torie Jayne Design homeware collection! I have been busy designing and sampling more than twelve products and they are finally ready for production. I simply cannot wait to share each of these new designs with you!
I am conservatively starting with three products. First up are the 'Maisy' print tea towels, mugs and chopping boards in four signature chalky pastel colours.
THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE THESE PRODUCTS INTO A REALITY IS WITH YOUR SUPPORT!!

About Torie Jayne Design
I started Torie Jayne Design after my elder sister said “I love your book and want everything in it, but I can’t sew! Why can you not just start your own brand of homeware so I can buy it?”
Ooh! Now that sounded like an exciting new challenge. I am passionate about homeware, especially kitchen products, and loved designing the prints and patterns for the kitchenware collection in my book. With twenty years experience as a professional fashion designer, I have worked on everything from swimwear to denim, outerwear to kidswear. During that time, I have taken initial design concepts through to production and have worked with factories across the globe.
It is very important to me that all my products not only look great but are also practical, something drummed into me from years of technical challenges: from making swimwear chlorine-proof to getting just the right amount of abrasion and distress on a denim dress. As such, the fine bone china is both dishwasher and microwave safe. The melamine is also dishwasher safe, as well as being strong and highly durable, providing resistance to stains and withstanding temperatures of up to 95°C. The kitchen linens are screen-printed and are heat-cured through huge gas dryers to ensure excellent colour-fastness.
I knew from the outset what ‘Torie Jayne Design’ would look like and what readers of my blog and books would expect: “custom designed homeware in my signature style colour palette of sophisticated chalky pastels.”
After intense research, visiting manufacturing shows and looking carefully at all the UK manufacturers, I narrowed down my list of factories to visit. Over the past months I have worked closely with the very best UK homeware manufacturers to get my first set of samples perfect. I have made sure that I've learned about the manufacturing processes involved in production. How ceramics start with a screen print that is used to make the transfers, which are then hand applied before going into the kiln. How melamine is moulded and then hand sanded to get the perfect shape. Of course, when it came to the kitchen textiles, I was on more familiar ground, having worked with textiles for as long as I can remember.
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my Kickstarter!

Risks and challenges
This campaign has been launched at the final production stage - everything is setup and ready to go with design and sampling having been completed with our manufacturers. We’ve worked hard over the past several months to build strong relationships with the manufacturers and expect to hit all of our delivery deadlines.
We realise that there are always inherent risks in any production process, many of which may be beyond our control. However unlikely it is that there should be a hitch, we will keep backers updated throughout the campaign as well as afterwards should there be any setbacks or delays.
To ensure that the process goes as smoothly as possible, please answer the questionnaire that we send you at the end of the campaign as quickly as possible. Thanks!
We are confident in our ability to fulfil all pledges and deliver a wonderful product that you will love using and gifting.
