The mud pie is cooked, the flip flops toasted and the toenails are freshly clipped. Goblins, prepare to gobble!
Gobblin’ Goblins is a 2-12 player card game where you must defeat your opponents by being the greediest goblin in a sneaky battle for gross gourmet food. If you like a bit of strategy, a bit of gross and a bit of a chuckle you’ll be all over this like a goblin over a hot bucket of slime.
Each player takes the role of a different goblin. Pick from 12 different gobbos, each with their own loves, hates and special abilities.
Goblins gobble all kinds of weird and disgusting things, but only if they're in sets of colours (obviously). Using a simple 'play a card, pick up a card' mechanic, goblins will need to collect sets of colours of food cards in order to gobble them up from their plate.
As well as playing 'food' cards to get them plated, gobbos can also play actions and distractions to try and outwit their opponents. Pink and powerful distraction cards can be thrown down at any time!
The player that gobbles the most food and earns the most points is the winner! It's so simple, even a goblin could understand.

Not a big fan of reading? Here's an awesome gameplay video from Gaming Knights (Warning: Explicit Language) and two nice little overview videos from the Cardboard Cultist and Gray Board Gamer:
Gobblin’ Goblins is a light game, it’s quick to learn and plays in under 30 minutes. If you’re not into the heavier games this is the perfect dish for you.
Kids love this game! Those little gremlins love all that gross stuff! The mechanics are simple enough for small ones to understand but have enough complexity to keep the parents interested too.
A game only takes 20 - 30 minutes and with a flexible player count, gobbos makes a great filler game.
It’s little! Just a double deck sized box. Chuck it in your rucksack, handbag, lunch box, bucket, whatever portable storage container you see fit!
Like our style but not sure about the game? This is our very first game and we’d love to make more games and a little pledge will help make that possible.
The following pledge tiers don't get you a copy of the game but will support the Gobblin' Goblins campaign:
Below are the pledge tiers for simply grabbing yourself a copy or two of the game:
And here are some pledge tiers that grab you lots of yummy extras as well as your own copy of the game:
That belly buster buffet sounds tasty right? We also have 5 more unique versions of that pledge tier. Each one allows you to help customise the design of one of the cards in the game. Below are the 5 cards which you can put your mark on:
The easiest way to answer this question is that you might not be able to buy it later if you don't buy it now! Cue the X-Factor style sob story! We're not a company making a pre-order we are just a trio of pals trying to make a game. This is our best route to make it happen. So if it's unsuccessful, sadly Gobblin' Goblins may never hit the shelves!
If you want a second reason to buy now, then I guess I'd say the price! We've set a low price now to give it the best chance of getting funded. If we hit that goal we'll also have stock to sell later and we'll sell those copies for a bit more in order to fund the next board game adventure!
The dream, like any board game designer, is to make games full time, or at least part time. It's a big dream, perhaps impossible! But either way, getting our first game funded and out there in the board game world will get us kickstarted (do you see what I did there). And that my smelly friends, is why we're here!
Risks and challenges
We've planned and planned and planned some more to make sure everything is in place to get your rewards to you if the project funds.
- Design & Manufacturing -
Apart from a few card customisations, the game is fully designed and ready to go. When funded we'll immediately get the ball rolling with our board game manufacturer in China. We're using the highly experienced and proven Panda GM (the manufacturer of games such as Pandemic and Dead of Winter). We want the quality of the final product to be as good as it can be in the first instance (no stretch goals required) and we'll be in safe hands with them.
- Shipping & Fulfilment -
Fulfilment of the games and coasters will be handled by Gamesquest, one of the leading internet retail companies of games in the United Kingdom, with huge experience in shipping games to consumers all over the UK, Europe and the World. Any pledge tiers that come with original artwork will be handled ourselves. We will ensure proper care is taken to pack items in such a way to avoid any damage. We will use Royal Mail, tracked and signed delivery service to make sure your rewards make it to your door.
- Stretch Goals -
Stretch goals that require any additional manufacturing requirements have been carefully planned and incorporated into the budget for the project.
- Schedule -
We plan to have all rewards shipped by March 2018, and to have them delivered to you by April 2018. We will do everything in our power in order to hit this target. If anything affects when the final product lands on your doorstep, we will ensure you are updated. We'll keep you updated throughout every step of the process. Needless to say, if we can deliver your rewards earlier than planned we will!
