We are very excited about the team of people who have voluntarily assembled to make this project.
Local actors and crew from our community, church, Boys & Girls club, and students from both SF Academy of Art and Santa Clara University will be partnered with local business such as Chipotle and the Grind Coffee shop. We are very excited to be a part of the 168 (168 hours to make a film) fest.
168 is focused at the crossroads of art and faith, which is often a battleground. The heart of the artist tends to be dark and brooding. But, as the foundation of the 168 contest, the Word of God sheds light on the human condition.
168 rules and structure show artists that the way to succeed in the contest is to understand the verse and to translate it into a relevant message for today. Grasping this, the artists (regardless of their faith) actively work together to gain an understanding of their scripture.
Our story revolves around SECOND CHANCES (the theme of the fest) and we were assigned Lamentations 5:20 "Why do you always forget us? Why do you forsake us so long? Restore us to yourself, O LORD, that we may return; renew our days as of old."
So we have created a story about Isaac. He's a taste tester. He loves giving his opinions. His perspective on life is always the "right" perspective on life, yet often he feels forsaken longing for something different. His life philosophy has isolated him from his best friend, Father, and current girlfriend. Isaac must undergo his own test to win back his relationships, his job, and ultimately find second chance at life.
All the funds we need to raise go to film production. All crew and cast are volunteering. We have rental needs for gear, craft services (food for the crew), overnighting the finished product, and hopefully some extra money to travel to LA to see our film premiered March 31-April 2.
Thank you so much for considering our adventure and partnering with us!
