My name is Tonky. I'm a Brooklyn-based artist and designer and I need your help to produce a line of reflective buttons. The buttons are stylish during the day, extremely visible at night, and they can pin to pretty much anything.
With Your Support
Successful Kickstarter funding will allow us to produce a large batch of high-quality buttons for an affordable price. The reflective material is rather expensive and we'll get a better deal if we buy more of it. Plus your help will cover the printing and packaging costs.

From Idea to Prototype
The idea for reflective buttons came to me as we planned for Transportation Alternative’s Bike to Work Day Party in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. RydeSafe helped sponsor the event and at our booth we let commuters design their own button using colorful Sharpie markers. It was a super fun night and we realized just how much people love buttons.
You may have heard of our successful Kickstarter project RydeSafe Reflective Bike Decals (now available at RydeSafe.com and stores everywhere). The reflective stickers work great for bike frames, rims, and helmets, but they don’t stick to fabric. So the natural solution was to press the same highly reflective material into a wearable button. We see RydeSafe Reflective Buttons as a useful (and stylish) solution for cyclists, runners, pedestrians, and canines alike.
Months of work went into producing the prototypes you see in the four available kits. Not only were the designs carefully considered and refined, but transitioning from a hand press to a more mass-producible process took months of research and development.

Risks and challenges
Every project comes with risks, but you can pledge with confidence my friend. We spent several months refining the printing and button-pressing process and the prototypes look amazing. We've done our homework, ironed out the kinks and are ready to roll! Also the process of fulfilling my first successful Kickstarter project was a valuable learning experience.
