I do not think there is someone who has not been disturbed by the smells that emanate during the use of the toilet, or not to be embarrassed when someone used the toilet immediately after him. How many times did it happened to you  in any hotel, even with many stars, after using the toilet, to have to wait a long time for the complete ventilation of the bathroom? Now the TVS removes all of these bothering issues.

 The current systems make ventilation of the toilets with the fans mounted in the ceiling of the room, having the disadvantage that the smells in the first phase are scattered into the room and then being evacuated outside.

 To systems that aspire smells through the toilet flush pipe, when the water is drawn the aspiration of smells is interrupted and the smells spread in the bathroom.  

The TVS aspire odors directly from the toilet bowl, preventing their spread  into the room and evacuating them to the sewerage network, as follows:

       - when a person sits on the toilet (considering that the toilet surface is occupied mostly by the person) a proximity sensor commands the opening of the air flap and starts the fan at low power (at some versions it is adjustable), sufficient to prevent the smells from spreading into the room.     

        - when the person stands up, the proximity sensor keeps the air flap open and switches the fan to full power, because after the lifting of the person is released the entire surface of the toilet and it is necessary to suck up a larger volume of air, to prevent the smells from coming out in the room.     

        - after 10 seconds the air flap closes, the fan stops  and the system stays in standby. At some variants this time can be set between 10 – 270 s to allow room ventilation, especially at non-ventilated bathrooms. 

 · For mounting you need a flexible or fixed connection provided with an auxiliary connection with the diameter of 40 mm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110709930163. If you want you can order it from us (see at auxiliary). 

· Give a hole in the top - back to get into the toilet drain area. Drilling is done with a diamond hole saw  for porcelain and ceramic, with a diameter of 45 mm (you can call a plumber).   

· Remove the toilet cover and mount the TVS.   

At the suspended toilets, the connecting elbow is drilled (diameter = 45mm), mount the gasket and make the TVS connection with the suitable fittings. 



 The procedure is the same as in points 1 and 2 respectively.   



· The toilet cover is drilled (diameter = 18 mm) and you assemble the proximity sensor. IMPORTANT: The hole must be on the vertical of the center of the drainage area so not to trigger the sensor when the cover close.







· Plug the adapter into the socket, turn on the TVS  by rotating the potentiometer half a rotation (only at theTVS3), put your hand in front of the sensor to switch the system to standby, leave the cover down and with a small screwdriver, adjust the proximity sensor until the led goes off (increases fan speed). At the TVS2 and the TVS3, you can adjust the system's operating time after the person stand up from the toilet, between 10 – 270 s (at the TVS1 this time is preset at about 10 s).  




When disassembling the TVS, mount a stopper to prevent the smells from coming out into the room. 





 External washing of the components can be done with detergents or with alcohol-based substances. Fan areas and air flap should only be cleaned with alcohol-based substances. 

 IMPORTANT: Do not use substances that contain chlorine.

 Periodically clean the air flap hinges (to avoid blockage) with alcohol-based substances. Periodically, you can disinfect and clean internal parts by spraying alcohol-based substances with the TVS in operation.





The idea came to me at the holidays, when I had more invited guests and a single toilet. Standing on the toilet, I was stressed because the smells were spreading in the bathroom, knowing that another person was waiting to get in the bathroom after me.

We initially prepared the documentation for patenting. I have had other projects in work, just with a year ago we made the first prototype in a simplified form.

At first I underestimated the necessary budget, as well as the time required to start serial production.

We have made several variants, which we have been testing for many months. The molds for injection of plastic components are expensive and last a long time (some had to be adjusted later), I still have to make the molds for the gasket (the gasket is made of white silicone), and for the air flap.  Electronic control modules for prototypes , were made manually. By the end of  July, the modules will be made by a specialized company, with automated machinery.

At the same time, I study replacing the proximity sensor with a smaller one (any suggestion is welcome). I estimate that at the beginning of November 2019 I can start deliveries.




IMPORTANT: The kit can be ordered for left or right mounting (front view) so that it can be mounted on the less visible part of the toilet.

Delivery of TVS is made in the form of a Kit in 3 variants:

- the ventilation power can not be adjusted when the person stays on the  toilet;

- after the TVS is in standby, it can only stop by removing the  adapter from the

Risks and challenges

The TVS has been upgraded and adapted to be installed on most toilet types. All three variants have been tested in the past 6 months and there were no operating problems.
The molds for injection of plastic components are executed and awaits the command for serial production, with the exception of the molds for the air flap and gasket.
For these, the drawings are sent to the manufacturer and given that they are small and simple components, their execution may not take more than 30 to 40 days.
The company that makes the electronic modules has made the PCB template, has done the tests and by the end of July will be ready for serial production.
Although the proximity sensors used work very well, we are looking for a smaller gauge sensor to improve the design.
The electrical subassemblies used are CE certified.
All the providers we collaborate with are very large companies, which have very large production capacities.
There is no risk that these products can not be produced.
With regard to delivery, we have the chance to start delivering even faster.
