What's New in Tomorrowland?

As you can see in the photo above, The Tomorrow crew took full advantage of the open bar at our issue release party on Saturday. Check out all the party photos—in their embarrassing glory—here.

Thanks to Frosty (dublab) for the jams, SVANH for the photoboothin’, Subtrança for the video art, Kelela for the vocals, Seso for the event space, Dogtown for the wieners ‘n’ tots, Jimmyjane and Handsome Coffee for the raffle prizes, all of our volunteer bartenders, and Pink Cloud events for helping it all come together. Oh, and special thanks to Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the official hangover provider of Tomorrow.

You should collaborate with all of these talented people and brands. All the time.

Need more copies of Tomorrow? We're doing a second mailing from our online store. Buy them here! And please spread the word to all of your friends.

If you already bought a copy of Tomorrow, it's on its way. If you were missed in the first mailing, we'll include you in the second. If you paid for your magazine before October 10 and still haven't gotten it by Nov. 1, please email and we'll figure it out. (We don't regularly check our Kickstarter or Tumblr inboxes, so please don't send magazine questions there if you can avoid it.)

Thanks again! We can't wait to hear your feedback about the magazine. We couldn't be happier with how it came out.

The Tomorrow Crew

We made Tomorrow! And now it's for sale.

To the Backers of Tomorrow:

We made a magazine! And we sent it to the printer on September 24. It's 112 pages of reported features, essays, infographics, illustrations and photography: the collaborative effort of more than 50 writers and artists from around the world.

We couldn't have done it without you. (Really, we are not worthy.)

Now that we're back to sleeping and otherwise being normal humans again, here are a few updates / reminders:

1) We are putting the magazine in the mail next week. If you haven't responded to our survey asking for your address yet, please do it ASAP. (Check your inbox or spam folder for an email from

2) Want extra copies of Tomorrow, or know someone who does? Fabulous. We are selling it in our online store. Buy them here before October 10.

3) For all of you whose reward includes an invite to the launch party: the party will happen in L.A. on October 20. A proper invite will arrive shortly, but save the date!

We're still looking for a liquor sponsor, so if you work in that industry (or know someone who does), please get in touch:

4) Finally, here's a peek at our sexy cover:

Thanks again for your support,

Your friends at Tomorrow

Only Five Days Until Tomorrow!

Hello, beautiful backers!

First and foremost, thanks for believing in us and supporting Tomorrow. We’ve been blown away by the number of people who want to help us make this magazine. With only five days left to finish fundraising, we want to give you a quick update on where we stand and where we’re headed next—and ask you to tell your friends all about it.

As of this writing, our Kickstarter total is just shy of $40,000. We’re so flattered that more than 1,500 people have invested in our project! When we set a goal of $15,000, we chose the lowest amount necessary to not lose money on a bare-bones effort. We did not include the cost of the editors’ time and effort, or our contributors’ art, words and reporting. So we hope you’ll continue to spread the word to your friends and encourage them to kick in for their very own issue, which will allow us to print more copies and compensate the hard-working people making this thing happen.

And what a thing it’ll be! We received hundreds of pitches, and we’ve already got some awesome articles planned for this 112-page four-color extravaganza. We’re going to explain why economists and video game designers need each other. We’re going to find out what happens to teens (and tweens) who are scouted by college and pro sports teams before they’re even old enough to drive. We’re going to diagram the human body of tomorrow, which is really more machine than man. We’ll profile up-and-coming queer musicians, discover art in the Yelp economy, check into virtual rehab, tell you who’s repping your favorite nail artist, and rant about baby boomers. Plus flowcharts and infographics and maybe even a jingle or two.

Please take a minute to spread the word about Tomorrow. And keep following along, too: We’re updating our Twitter and Tumblr daily. Thanks again for your support.

The Tomorrow Crew

We love you all. Keep it coming!

Wow. You are all amazing. You funded Tomorrow magazine within five hours, and the numbers keep climbing. We're touched and thrilled. Three-quarters of our funders have given $15 or less! This is the people's mag for real.

Now we're asking for one more favor—spread the word! We'll be riding out the next 28 days to get all the funds we can. Every dollar over $15,000 will go to:

  • Paying our brilliant contributors (and ourselves!)
  • Making prettier magazines, and more of them
  • Sending writers and photographers across the country and maybe the world
  • Stepping up our web game
  • Hosting an epic launch party

Again, thank you so much for all your love. We won't disappoint you.
