Making Music Videos: Film School
If you ever wondered what it takes to do a music video or if you ever wanted to make one for yourself but didn’t think you had the skills or the money necessary, then help support this project. I will produce a documentary that REALLY shows every step of the way on how I created three completely different music videos... for almost no money... that look as professionally as any music video from a major label. I will show you everything you need to know using real world examples. These three music videos have already been completed and broadcasted. Here are their YouTube links:
•'There For You' by JReyez ft. Lydia Paek
•'My Nirvana' by Sometime In November
•'Tomorrow Tonight' by Dahlia Fernandes
So where do you come in?
With your support I'll be able to get the music and video rights so I can use the three music videos, including all the outtakes, raw footage and behind the scenes, as examples. I will be able to put time aside from my work to make this documentary. Also, this will allow me to offer a DVD version of this film at a lower price by pre-ordering the DVD authoring and duplication.
A lot of rewards are available for your pledges, including the film itself (DVD or digital download), a chance to hang out with me and pick my filmmaking brain, and also a copy of the "Dinner Date: Short Film School" DVD, which is based on my award-winning short film. This DVD offers a great inside look into the world of low-budget filmmaking and has plenty of cool tips and advice for aspiring filmmakers. For more information and reviews click here.
A little about me...
I am a director, cinematographer and visual effects artist all rolled into one. I've started in the film industry as an animator and over the years transitioned into film production. I have directed the feature film “Under Black Skies”, as well as numerous short films and music videos. In addition, I have fourteen years of experience in the areas of visual effects, CGI and animation. This work has earned me several awards, including Telly, Promax BDA and Worldfest Gold Remi. My filmmaking experience ranges from large Hollywood productions like “Bait” and “Everyone’s Hero” to small budget DIY projects.
In 2009, I started sharing my filmmaking experience and knowledge through online tutorials that have gained a large and loyal audience on YouTube and Vimeo. My tutorials and films have been seen over 30 million times on YouTube alone, and my two YouTube channels have over 90,000 subscribers and 25 million views.
In addition, my tutorials have been featured in many filmmaking communities, including the Indy Mogul’s Awesome Director Project. I'm proud to say they have helped a great many indie filmmakers who dare to aim high while working with shoe-string budgets.
