All My Plastic Melon Dreams - Phish Documentary (independent production)
The documentary story of Phish & and their Phans A historical and often hysterical narrative journey back in time to the pivotal years (1989-1993).
The story of Phish & their Phans- A generational coming-of-age documentary:
Why we were there then & where we are now.
Two video interviews with Phish (‘89-Northampton, MA & ‘90 Hampshire College, MA) serve as the meandering string that the film's narrative follows. A string that guides the audience through the hazy memories and the Pholklore that abounds... (the string- it’s the thing that ties the whole thing together)
A historical and often hysterical narrative journey back in time to the pivotal years (1989-1993) of this incredibly unique rock band & their devoted phans
...back to the days when "Moses Heaps" was still a novice on the Electrolux
...back when blue summer skies & a cold running brook accompanied your favorite song
...back when a cornfield was the venue of choice
...back when every weekend meant a road trip to somewhere new
...back when the cold hard floor was expected and a mattress was a pleasant surprise

THIS IS A LONG PROCESS FOLKS... but with your help, WE can get it done. I have been waiting for a funding resource like kickstarter to come along for a very long time. I'm convinced that harnessing the power of the internets to reach out to the vast number of fellow phish phans located around the globe is the only way this lonely hearted independent producer is going to finally get to produce this film!
The potential for this documentary to be a wide spread and permanent record of Phish's unique rise to fame is undeniable. It goes without question that there is a worldwide appeal for this type of release. It is my hope that this film will be of great value for both the Phish organization as well as the millions of Phish fans who deserve to have this incredibly rare footage finally see the light of day. (PLEASE see www.AllMyPlasticMelonDreams.info for full details)
As a musician, artist, director and lover of music, I have made it a career goal of mine to produce a groundbreaking documentary that will finally bring this exclusive and highly entertaining interview footage to Phish phans across the globe.
The interviews with Phish were at the beginning of their career, before they even played at the Paradise in Boston. I was beginning my career as a video producer and was also booking talent for UMASS, Amherst (MA) concerts, lived in Burlington, VT, went to Hinesburg shows, Nectars, etc...
I can't wait to complete this documentary...it's been about 17 years in the making...and the stuff that Anastasio and Fishman say is incredible..and their energy and honesty and passion is amazing (as expected)...so I want the rest of the world to see this!... It's just that I got married, started my production company and had two kids in the meantime...thus the, well, 17 year delay.
WHAT'S PLEDGE $ GOING TO BE USED FOR?
After the new footage and interviews have been recorded, I will edit & produce the official Trailer. I will show the band & Red Light Management the trailer, the script, production schedule, all the other material.... and get all the legal stuff taken care of. With your help, the production will really be able to go into full swing. I plan on going with a full scale theatrical release ... which will hopefully take A LOT less than 17 years!
(PLEASE see www.AllMyPlasticMelonDreams.info for full details)
I'm glad there's still interest ...as I'm sure there always will be...for this incredibly cool band that is still affecting so many people's lives in a such a positive way!
