About this project

A new voice singing the songs of the American Songbook. A new voice, new arrangements and many of the American Songbook's most memorable love songs.

With the help of Yellow Sound Lab, my hope is to make a recording of American standards for a new generation of listeners as well as for the many lovers of the songbook.

The recording will consist of songs from my debut show, "This Love I Know...love songs of the American Songbook". Songs from great American Composers such Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Richard Rodgers and Alan Bergman to name a few.

The funds raised will go to produce this CD with three great musicians...Lawrence Yurman on piano, Damien Bassman on percussion and Mark Vanderpoel on bass and guitar. Three of Broadway's finest musicians and my band.

Be a part of the making of a recording that will bring the American Songbook to a new generation and demographic.

A few quotes about me...

“Over the years, I have witnessed three memorable renditions of Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg's "Over the Rainbow": when I was a puppy, Judy Garland at the Palace; years later, Leslie Orofino at Judys' on 44th Street; and now T. Oliver Reid at the Metropolitan Room. Reid sings this classic with exquisite simplicity and tenderness.”

Roy Sanders for BISTROAWARDS

“Vulnerability is a quality that most male singers measure out in teaspoons. But for T. Oliver Reid, it isn’t a discreetly added emotional flavoring to a love song; it is its essence.”

Stephen Holden for NY Times

“To witness Mr. Reid infuse popular standards with the immediacy and intensity of diary entries… was to observe an unfaltering emotional high-wire act. While tiptoeing on his high wire, Mr. Reid repeatedly shot arrows into the hearts of songs, where they lodged, quivering.”

Stephen Holden for NY Times

Thanks in advance!
