My name is Todd Alsup and I'm an independent soul/R&B/pop artist living in New York City. It's time for me to record new music and I'm inviting you along for the adventure! I've assembled a world class of team of producers, musicians, and video artists to help me bring my new songs to life. Your pledge to this project will help me pay these people to work their magic.
You can expect a new Todd Alsup track AND music video once every couple of months over the next year. Ultimately, I will complete a minimum of 5 new tracks over the next 12 months - each with its own music video. This collection of songs will then be packaged as an EP and an exclusive limited edition run of CDs will be made available to backers of this campaign.
The wheels are already in motion. One of the new tracks ("Easy To Love You" produced by Steve Greenwell) is near completion and will be released during the life of this campaign (expect a release in July) and a second project (in collaboration with the amazing Caleb Hawley) is in full production with a target release date of September.
In exchange for your pledge, you can choose from any number of super unique and exclusive goodies we have on offer - anything from exclusive digital downloads, to private lessons with me, handwritten lyrics sheets, a private concert, etc. Take a look and consider getting involved!
I grew up in the age of the album, believing that an artist’s medium for fully expressing themselves musically was a collection of songs released all at once. And, with the loyal support of my fans, I've followed that template for my entire career. It's certainly gratifying to tout the huge accomplishment of having produced 10-12 tracks and packaged it all as one cohesive piece. But I've also found that creating (and having to sit on) all that material requires a long lull in my connection with you guys. Releasing it all in one huge burst means I have only one big moment to celebrate the accomplishment comprised of so much hard work. It feels like much of that hard work ends up getting eclipsed and overlooked. The world has changed. And I'm ready and excited to try a new approach.
I continue to be deeply grateful and humbled by the support and kindness of my fans. I look forward to sharing every step of this next chapter with each of you.
Risks and challenges
Kickstarter is all or nothing, so I only get funded if we reach the set goal of $15,000. I believe 100% that we can do this together! Your pledge however big or small makes all the difference.
I have the year pretty well mapped out and have budgeted for myself to cover any extra expenses beyond the set goal here. And I will be diligent about posting progress updates here and on social media.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
