From world-saving TTC controllers to secrets hiding between the shelves at Honest Ed’s, from giant robot battles over overpriced condos to the true heritage moment of the Clown Brothel Riot, this anthology celebrates everything we love about Toronto (and some of the things we don’t). With a foreword by Jeff Lemire (Moon Knight, Essex County, Justice League United) and a new nostalgic cover by Adam Gorham (Rocket!, The Violent), this is our most ambitious work yet.
Toronto Comics: Yonge At Heart is 210 colour pages of all-new comics, brought to you by 40 local indie veterans and first-time creators. With your help, both our previous Kickstarter campaigns were funded, and we're excited to bring you another volume in our ongoing series celebrating upcoming Canadian talent!
This is a standalone anthology, so you don't need to have read any of our previous books to enjoy the stories. Whether you're a long-time fan or a first-time reader, this is a book for you!
Inside you'll find:
The Good Ship Pigeon by Fred Kennedy ( The Fourth Planet, Teuton ) and Alex Rodway
Home and Country by Stephanie Cooke ( The Secret Loves of Geek Girls ) and Shawn Daley ( Terraquill, Samurai Grandpa )
Cabbagetown Creeps by Sam Ruano ( Lost Girl, Killjoys ) and Jason Song Quinn
1001 Torontonian Nights by Safiyya Hosein and Gina Garcia
Caddy's by Jeff Estrella and Cleopatria Peterson
Con-text by Emma Burkeitt
Dying Wish by Lorena Torres Loaiza and Rebecca Slack
My First Slice by Tuhin Giri and Kelvin Sue
The Tanuki of Riverdale by Marcia Iwasaki
Tarotonto by Saffron Bolduc-Chiong
A Work in Progress: The Bathroom by Gwen Howarth and Sam Noir

What they're saying:
"Toronto is a wonderful city. These are wonderful comics. That can’t just be a coincidence."
- Jeff Lemire, Moon Knight, Essex County, Justice League United
"Toronto has always felt like not just *a* home of Canadian comics, but *the* home: there's so much talent here, old AND new, so many people doing interesting things with the medium, and so many events like the Toronto Comics Arts Festival that - LIKE TORONTO ITSELF - are legitimately world-class."
- Ryan North, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
"Toronto is a wellspring of creative talent and this anthology is a perfect way to
introduce people to the next generation of Canadian comic creators."
– Jim Zub, Thunderbolts, Wayward, Samurai Jack
"Toronto is considered a comic book mecca and if you didn’t know that before picking up this book, you’ll understand why after reading the eclectic, amusing, and diverse comics presented here by a collective of multi-talented creators living, creating, and being inspired by their city."
- J. Torres, Teen Titans Go!, The Mighty Zodiac
"More than just a CN Tower postcard, the series benefits from its gleefully geeky celebration of Toronto."
- NOW Toronto
"This pulpy publication is a who’s who of young comic talent in the country, bursting with eye-grabbing images and witty lines."
- London Free Press
"The talent in Toronto is incredible, and this collection goes a long way to highlight the depth, ability, and diversity of emerging comic book storytellers in this city. Watch these names - if you don’t know them yet, you will soon!"
- Hope Nicholson, Secret Loves of Geek Girls, Nelvana!
"If you’re from Toronto, and you enjoy comics, then you have no excuse. This book was created LITERALLY for you. What else are you going to read on the Queen Streetcar?"
-Ty Templeton, Comicbook Bootcamp

Risks and challenges
We've released three great volumes before, and you can find them in comic book stores across TO. Last year was our second Kickstarter, and we successfully delivered a great book to all our backers.
Our artwork is in, our TCAF table is confirmed, and we've got our ducks in order. We've learned from past challenges, and printing Yonge at Heart should be a stress-free experience.
Barring accident or injury, the book will be launched on May 13th at TCAF 2017, and Kickstarter rewards will begin shipping shortly afterwards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
