I want to thank you all again for allowing me the extra time I need to write To Breathe Free. Now that we’re two weeks into October, I realize that if I had to publish by the end of the month, I would not have been able to complete this novel in the way I wanted.
Since I like to keep all of you in-the-know, here are some ways I’m using, or will be using, the extra time:
- Adding a few new characters who give more depth to the other characters and to the story.
- Adding more scenes and fleshing out others I feel (along with my editor) are not adequate.
- Sharpening dialogue.
- Removing scenes and characters not crucial to the story, making the novel tighter.
- Putting my manuscript through more rounds of editing, including copyediting and proofreading.
Though these are only five bullet points, each entail a tremendous amount of work, which I continue to tackle every day. I have not rested, and I won’t, until To Breathe Free is published, and even then I’ll be focusing on promoting the novel.
Well, time for me to get back to work. I will post again in early November.
