Howdy from Nashville!

Hope everyone is enjoying the grilling season in they're neck of the woods!

Before we start, we want to again, thank all of you, our backers, because your support and belief in us, along with the continued support of funding and time commitments by our core team, has allowed us to get to where we are.  And please accept our apology for not getting a group update out sooner - we've tried to respond to any requests for information or updates - but really should be better about posting updates here.

But not to worry - we've been full steam ahead, fully-committed and in this for the long haul.  Our goal is still to do one thing - send you a product that will last a lifetime.  This is no easy task for a new company, and we've seen lots of challenges and growing pains over the past year.  We've seen alot happen over the past year - expanded into a new building, installed a manufacturing line and process from the group up, and continued to tweak our final parts and finishes to create the most beautiful and functional stone cooking products on the planet.  Because who else is going to do it?!?

Lots to catch up on, here's the rundown.

The Pizza Stones are a NON-SMASHING Success.

Seriously, we tried to smash them, but no luck.  Even Tom, our annual shot put and hammer throw champion (two years running) couldn't break one:

Setting up the equipment to make the stones in a higher volume, which still maintaining the finish, quality, tolerances and other attributes of the stone was no easy task, and a big milestone, and are confident we can apply everything we've learned to the ovens as well.  We continue to hone finish on the stones, and the earliest stones do have some roughness, grind marks, and character to them (which many people like) but everyday we get a little better at producing a stone that is flawless both visually and structurally.  For those that didn't see our last update, here's some shot of the stones being made:

The feedback so far has been great, with no technical issues reported.  People really like the fact that it is easy to clean, and looks good enough to just leave on your counter top as a display piece - a great plus to any piece of kitchen equipment!

looks good. cooks better.
looks good. cooks better.

NOTE: If you received a stone that was heavier than you would like, we are now making the stones about 1/8'' thinner than before.  Our original tolerances on initial runs were conservative, but as we've tested our newest mix formulas, we find we can go thinner and still have the strength.  If you like a beefier, more commercial stone, then please keep what you have - but if you don't like you stone because it's TOO heavy, let us know, and we'll send you another - it's on us.

Ring Mounts

The good news for the ring mounts - based on our in depth beta testing, we've made some small, but critical tweaks and improvements to the design and the materials to ensure a perfect, one-of-a-kind home for your Weberᵀᴹ grill that is made to last.  We've also incorporated a safety design in the form of a larger heat shield/flap which sits hidden from view, but ensures that the wood frame stays cool for those installing in wood tables.

The bad news is, these improvements take time, and we are a couple months behind schedule.  We are finalizing our updates molds this week, and hope to be casting units before the end of the month, with shipment in July.  We realize we may be holding up your plans to install into your tables for this grilling season, and we wanted very much to make this happen, but the last thing we wanted was to ship a product that wasn't 100% durable and safe.  We think those that ordered the Ring Mount are going to love it as much as your Weber (and we know that's a lot!).

The Ovens - Relic's are Coming!

The good news - we've developed a custom manufacturing process to make the Relic that is truly one-of-a-kind, first in it's class.  We've been heads down doing the critical engineering and tooling to create an oven that is both beautiful, but can also be produced quickly, while at the same time, made to tight tolerances and with the highest level of quality.

Of course, we've also had the terrible job for the past year of continuing to stress test our original design.  We're glad to report that the materials and original units have stood the test of time, and still working and looking like new, despite some pretty aggressive testing:

To make the ovens this way, we've had to design bigger, more advanced equipment, and quickly started to outgrow our space - so we decided to make the leap to a larger facility. The move has been great, and is a major milestone, and setting us up for long-term success - but it's obviously added time to the delivery schedule for both the ovens and the ring mounts.

But we are moving full steam ahead with setting up the equipment and tooling for the ovens, and lining up production for the sub parts (chimneys, handles, etc.), working towards a September delivery for ovens - we really want everyone to have them for the fall season - which is really the oven season at it's best - if you ask us!

We are sorry to have to update with delays, but we are set on delivering, first and foremost, a quality product, and don't want to rush or skimp on our efforts to do it right.

Thanks again for your backing and support, and happy grilling and pizza-making in the Summer of '17!!!

We leave you with some more shots of the O.G. Relic in action the past year.
