Hello Everyone, Randall & Wayne with Titanomachy Studios here, excited to tell you all about our upcoming project, Condors VS Ocelots or as we like to call it cVo. You can see the kinds of games we work on here at Titanomachy Studios on our website here.
We have also decided the best way to really let everyone know what we are building and let everyone know what they are supporting, we have decided to just let everyone play our Pre-Alpha Demo. You can download it here for PC and here for MAC!
Join us on our journey through the war-torn land of Kotheros. Choose your faction of either Condors or Ocelots or the mysterious Goatverlords in the campaign and strengthen your armies for total domination of the continent. Online battles pit your best units against your friends and others from around the world and will be possible with all of your help.
Titanomachy Studios is currently working on the single player experience. Now we are going to make this is as amazing as possible, however we also know that in today's society as much as a single player experience is important, a multiplayer experience is just as important. If we meet our funding goals, we will be able to add multiplayer options so you and your friends can compete! Which army will come out on top? You will decide.
They've fought for generations. Settlements lie in ruins, refugees flee across ravaged landscapes, while bandits prey upon the weak. And still the Condors and Ocelots wage war. But now a new faction appears amid the chaos of this broken world, and everything changes in an instant. The Goatverlords promise to destroy anyone in their path. To seize the land for themselves. Can the Condors and Ocelots unite to fend them off? And how long can an alliance between ancient enemies last?
The basic game play is isometric turn-based Strategy Role Playing Game (SRPG) with consequences at its core. The player controls an army of purchased units that vary in strengths and weaknesses. These units also have abilities that are highly customizable with what we are calling ‘mutagens.’ These mutagens modify the abilities in which units use, changing the overall effect of said ability.
The consequences lie within your choices as a player, if a unit falls in combat you only have a limited amount of lives before that unit effectively dies. Therefore you have to recruit a new unit, or use in-game currency for revives etc. Also, units also gain experience from actually participating in kills, adding more choices. As you progress in the game, your units level up through maps. Those units will gain ability points, which you may allocate where you wish and use to change abilities. This customization allows you to play with the army you wish.
You and Beccs tore up the streets of Gar Lekund as kids, and one of you would always be dragging the other either into or out of trouble. Her knuckles bloodied your nose more than once back then (and hey, you probably deserved it). But usually, they blackened the eyes of anyone who came at you. Fierce friends are worth their weight in weapons when you have to face the beasts and brigands who lurk around Kotheros, and for you, that's always been Beccs.
Dekko prefers a quiet life. In Gar Lekund, far from the battles that rage between the Condors and Ocelots, he mostly got it. Until the Raiders came. Now he has to deal with that threat alongside everyone else, do what he must to keep the town and its people safe — but he doesn't have to like it. If he dies, tell his wife he hates her (it's their thing; long story).
Lani's spent a lot of her life telling you and Beccs not to do anything stupid. The two of you seldom listened. Now, with the Blood Breath Raiders threatening your town, she has to roll her eyes and accept that the line between stupidity and bravery's going to get blurred.
The mayor of Gar Lekund, Trellis Ghanst cares about two things: keeping his job (along with its comforts) and keeping his head. To that end, he'd rather pay off the local bandits than resist. If you're in mortal danger, don't expect him to help. He knows you can't vote against him if you're dead...
Hazzy and Lethi Breath lost both their parents to the war. The Ocelots conscripted their mother, who died leading an attack on a Condor base, then executed their father after he battered the commander who sent his wife to her death. Since then, the Breath siblings have carved out a place in this harsh world by any means necessary. First that meant theft. Then murder. Now, their Blood Breath Raiders terrorize the countryside around Gar Lekund, and eventually it's going to come down to you or them.
Currently we have a pre-alpha build that we are working on as our vertical slice. We are hoping to have the full set of levels done for each faction. We are raising funds to cover 3D models or a 3D modeler whichever comes first. We would also be using funds to help cover initial server costs to make sure our match-making system is not only excellent for our users but also widely available to as many people who might want to download our game!
A plethora of levels takes your army across the continent to put an end to thousand year old feud and maybe meet a few new friends along the way. Our hope here is that having multiple campaigns will let those who enjoy a single player RPG experience get their fill without being forced into the multiplayer and then of course with the online battles we can fulfill that social need we all have to destroy our enemies! While there will be an element of Perma-death in the single player campaign for units, online units will be spared this and simply knocked out after each battle.
We are going to be finishing this project with a hopeful release date of May 2020. You can help us meet this goal and be an incredible addition to our overall project! We have a diverse selection of different donation points so you can maximize your involvement with us over the next 60 days and leave a lasting mark on this upcoming title.
Our team is as diverse as it is awesome! With veterans, up and comers, and even noobs to the industry our team's strength lies in our diversity. We have over 20 years of game development experience and we are all avid gamers ourselves. Here are some of our team members to keep an eye on! We are a small dedicated team from a multitude of backgrounds and locations. We believe in equal opportunity awesome and this is clearly exhibited in our diverse team set up.
Collectively we have 20 years of game dev experience and have people with a wide array of skills from Jordyn the Lead Artist who crushes in 2D art, to our Lead Designer John who is a wily Army Veteran to the awesome guys over at Box Monkey Studios who are handling the composing and weaving of fantastic stories through music. NPALL is handling our sfx. These are only 3 of our amazing team members. As you can see though, our diverse backgrounds contribute to amazing creativity and a team dynamic that exhibits our "never give up, never surrender" attitude. Here are a few examples of the team's work, Screaming Eagles, Pocket Assault, Designing graphics or otherwise or our published novel, Gorgon Street Girls.
Risks and challenges
Risks and challenges are the building blocks of any indie studio these days. Everything we do is a calculated risk and a mitigated challenge. With that said, we are used to it!
The real challenge here is to successfully launch a title with no real outside funding. I would say that this kickstarter is the answer to that, but if I am being honest the success of this project is not dependent on the success of this kickstarter. The project will be finished regardless, however the extra funding will allow us to do exceptional things such as add features and improve quality etc.
In regards to development we are a small dedicated team with a myriad of experiences across multiple multi-media settings. With our prior years of experience, the passionate drive inside of Titanomachy Studios along with all of you, our community, will facilitate our success in this project. There are pitfalls with budgets and schedules, which all impact scheduling. The current plan though is that we finish feature implementation for initial release by the end of 2019. Productivity and software licenses could impact unforeseen delays. Our hope and intent is that with your support, the project will move smoothly ahead. We will be as transparent with you as possible in the coming months.
With that all said, our project unfolds more and more each day with new art, new audio, and new code. We are excited about its progress and invite YOU to join the fun. The only question left, How much do you want to participate? Thank you for supporting our Kickstarter!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
