About this project
Dungeon Digger is a dungeon building game where players take on the role of horrible Dungeon Lords ready to sacrifice their servants, the Stooges, to dig the most intricate underground dungeon and annihilate their opponents.
Dungeon Digger is a competitive comic-fantasy boardgame with a duration of 40-60 minutes, for 2 to 6 players of age 12 or more.
Dungeon Digger will be released both in English and Italian (HERE you will find a complete translation of the Kickstarter page in Italian).
If we reach 50 backer for each country we will translate the game in German, French, Spanish, and Dutch.

You’ve been turned and hunted for years, they stole thy precious treasures, destroyed thy dens, but now the time has come to say “no more!” You finally came to the very heart of the Underdarker's last unexplored part, Mount Peril, to set the foundations of thy dominion of true terror and cruelty, but… the only workers you can rely on are a bunch of useless, clumsy, exploitable, stupid and expendables Stooges! Will you be able to lead an army of incompetent servants and to exploi… ehm to push them enough to build the best dungeon of all and become the Lord of the Lords of the Dungeon?
Dungeon Digger is a boardgame for the comic-fantasy genre lovers, populated by weird heroes, Stooges, ridiculous Lords of the Dungeons, lethal traps and humid, stinky dark tunnels!
The strengths of this game reside in:
- Strategic building game that lets you try different game scenarios and will entertain you for hours of fun!
- A typical game lasts one hour, including the explanation; so your Stooges know who's the boss!
- Super funny illustrations depicting the Stooges typical life and an easy self-explaining graphic design.
- Fortune factor and randomness are reduced to a minimum thanks to a balanced Order system and the possibility to swap the tiles they can choose among. If you lose a Dungeon Digger game the fault will be mostly yours!
- Dungeon Digger is a language independent board game. The game will be available in Italian and English but some of our awesome backers are helping us translating the rulebook and the Dungeon Lords' cards in French, Spanish and German!
Dungeon Digger has been designed, illustrated and tested thoroughly during two long years and now it needs your help to be printed, get real and be distributed!

The project is European but you will not face any hard calculation to calculate the cost.
Pledges will be in € but in the first line of their description you will find the $ and £ conversion: moreover, we suggest to download a browser add-on that will magically turn the prices into your preferred currency updating them based on the official daily market value. Cool right?

For the final version of Dungeon Digger the tokens, construction tiles, logos and even the board will be redesigned to improve the gaming experience of every Dungeon Lord.
Subtitles available: Italian, English and French.
It is really easy to start playing Dungeon Digger and here we will briefly explain the Standard Rules: based on the number of players you will start placing your Portal tile on position number 5-6 if there are 5 or 6 participants, or on position number 4 if there are 4 participants, and so on.
Choose a color and place 1 Stooge of the same color on your Portal tile and 2 more on the Scorekeeping area on the board.
During each of your turns, you will have 2 Tyranny Points with which you will be able to force your Stooges to build Rooms and/or Corridors.
Attention! You can only build upon an empty area and only if one of your Stooges is on a tile directly connected to it.
In the example, the player builds a Corridor using the Work! Order (1 Tyranny Point) and he/she subsequently displace his/her Stooge on the newly built tile by using another Tyranny Point to perform the Move! Order.
The same goes for Room building:
Remember it is only possible to build Rooms and Corridors in legal positions:
In Dungeon Digger Stooges can be moved from one tile to another connected one which contains a door using one shift.
Building connected Rooms could result in a winning strategy but your Stooges will only move 1 tile per shift when moving across such tiles (opening the doors on the Rooms borders slows them down!)
Stooges move faster when they use Corridors to do it and every shift they can move from one tile to another one containing a door (“jumping” over Corridor tiles which are not interrupted by doors).
It does not matter how long the Corridor is, it will always require only one shift to cross it if no door interrupts it.
We know what you are thinking right now: how can I ruin my opponents’ game?
Easy! You can always use 1 Tyranny Point and sacrifice one of your Stooges to perform a Sabotage! Order to place a Collapse tile on the board. Players may then make 1 of their Stooges who is next to that tile perform a Demolish! Order by using 2 Tyranny in order to remove it from the board permanently.
Stooges owned by the same Dungeon Lord can team up forming a larger group by moving on the same tile.
A Party of Stooges is able to defeat opponents’ Stooges only if its unit number is superior to the opponents’.
If they move onto a tile occupied by an inferior number of opponents’ Stooges, the latter will be defeated and removed from the board.
If the unit number of Stooges on both sides is the same, both groups will not be able to pass and there will not be any dead Stooge (unfortunately).
Stooges aren’t the smartest creatures around but they can do one thing for sure: give up their life for their Lord! This is why, when it comes to fulfill the Conquer! Order you will have to flip a Stooge token standing on an opponent’s Room upside down to mark the territory with its body.
Remember that when moving through opponents’ dungeons you will be able to move your Stooges only by one tile per shift. Every Trap they will cross will make the Stooges number lessen by one unit.
Moreover the number of Conquest tokens will give you extra points when deterimining the winner, so what you are waiting for? Send those Stooges to massacre!
In the depth of Mount Peril you will be able to find many both friendly and unwelcome dwellers, so beware your steps down there!
Based on our past experience with our first project, #UrbanHeroes, we will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship.
We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends.
We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from our hub in Italy (EU and rest of the world backers), Tampa, Florida (USA backers) or London (UK backers only).

Tin Hat Games is a small italian game design project which includes people harnessing several different competences into one creative team capable of giving birth to cross-market products. Our path started with #UrbanHeroes, an old school superheroic roleplaying game who got funded on Kickstarter in 2014 and from that time many events, interviews, collaborations, new ideas and expansion books came out.
Now it is time to find funds to manufacture Dungeon Digger and achieve with all of you this brand new gaming dream!
The team behind the game is composed of:
Alessandro Rivaroli - The beard and the hood: game designer, graphomaniac and renowned Stooges’ torturer. His favourite Dungeon Lord is Xibalba ‘cause no matter her age she’s always gorgeous and he would like to end up being one of her Stooges!

Matteo Botti - Communication specialist, perfection addicted, he’s the one who whips the Stooges who like too much talking rather than digging. His favourite Dungeon Lord is Brainthid because, well, it’s green, has tentacles and controls the minds of the weak!

Manuel Strali - Master of the dark arts, the graphic designer who made the whole dungeon, the game box and symbols: he loves to see the Stooges warm corpses assembled into perfect geometrical shapes. Because of arts. His favourite Dungeon Lord is M’raah because it’s really ignorant and pragmatic. Its main strategy is to use violence in every occasion instead of fine thinking. Its “Implacable Raider” special ability is particularly useful in the final phases of the game.

Laura Guglielmo - The colorful mother of the Stooges, professional illustrator, Grimorio co-author and Attaccapanni Press co-founder, she’s the one who made literally every illustration for this game. We secretly suspect she stands for the Stooges cause; just don’t let them know this… Her favourite Dungeon Lord is Mortendai because it’s adorably old, visibly cruel, and succeeded into achieving every child’s dream: becoming an archlich of course!

Risks and challenges
The risks for such venture are many:
- Being devoured by a dragon.
- Reaching the most important Stretch Goals may force us to realize a new packaging for the box (miniatures for example) so the delivery time may be delayed. In order to get updates about these topics we suggest to follow our Facebook page and the Tin Hat Games website.
- Being captured, enslaved and tortured: this is none but the life of a Stooge after all...
- We are doing our best to make the shipping easy and fluid, so we will get to use, as we previously did for #UrbanHeroes, a professional courier and we will give you the opportunity to track your package. Moreover Dungeon Digger will be distributed in Italy by Raven Distribution while our partners from MetaGames Inc (authors of Lucid card game) will take care of US and UK shipping. The datas inquiry and order management will be done through BackerKit.
