What seemed like a far-distant release date of February 10, 2017 is now distinctly on the horizon and I'm working to put the final pieces in place regarding promotion, press, booking, and most importantly (for you), order fulfillment of Amber Lantern. I'll admit that I didn't quite recognize how an undertaking of this magnitude would be affected by the craziness of the holidays, but I am happy to say that I will begin mailing out orders immediately after the new year. CD's and the remaining merchandise have arrived at the Northern Detective warehouse (my basement) and our shipping clerk (myself) is beginning the merry task of packing up your boxes.
Regrettably, vinyl orders are still delayed in the dense logjam of United Record Pressing's overextended queue. A quick scan of Urban Outfitters' record section and its multitude of reissued Wayne's World soundtracks may offer some clues regarding the overall sluggishness of the vinyl pressing industry. Unnecessary major label repressings aside, I remain optimistic that the dam will soon loosen enough to allow tiny indie releases like mine to squeak through. In the meantime, let's all try to stay loose over the holidays.
To those of you in the Northern Hemisphere, a very happy winter solstice!
