The Amber Lantern Sound
I'm delighted to announce that Amber Lantern is now fully mixed and mastered! While there are still a million details left to take care of before the release, having the audio completely in the bag is a major achievement and I want to thank you again for helping me get to this point. After slowly piecemealing things together over the past several years, I can't tell you what a luxury it was to actually have a budget and be able to book sessions one right after another. Your funding allowed us to keep up a rhythm and momentum that really benefitted the process.
I also have to acknowledge the colossal efforts of my friend, mentor, and longtime engineer, Geoff Michael. His studio, Big Sky Recording, has been my home away from home for almost sixteen years and I've been so lucky to continue making records with him. He is a huge part of my musical vision and his influence cannot be understated. Even when I began recording more parts in my own studio, he was always on hand to answer questions, offer advice, and loan me equipment. He is one patient badass who takes my mess of poorly-captured, unnecessarily-intricate parts and makes beautiful, streamlined mixes that sound like I knew what I was doing all along. Thank you, Geoff! And thank you to Eric Conn at Independent Mastering down in Nashville for supporting our mixes with a truly lovely-sounding master!
Over the next few months the focus will shift to graphic design, manufacturing, laying the groundwork for a PR campaign, and learning the new songs with a band. I will continue to keep you posted with further updates, but if any of my pledgers have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
