It's been a little while since I've posted an update, so I thought I'd get you up to speed on my progress. I've spent much of August mixing the album with Geoff Michael at Big Sky Recording in Ann Arbor and tying up some loose ends in my own studio. We're pushing ourselves very hard and the first few finished mixes sound really beautiful. Everything seems to be coming into focus. Mixing will continue into September and, after that, I've booked a top notch mastering engineer down in Nashville to master the album. Completion of the artwork and packaging will follow as well as the manufacturing of CD's, posters, and all other related merchandise.
Regarding the vinyl release, I have to admit that I wasn't fully aware of the unusually high demand for LP's which will likely cause some delays for my release. When I made my last record in 2011, the vinyl resurgence hadn't quite reached its zenith, but in 2016, everyone is releasing vinyl and the few existing pressing plants are working like crazy to accommodate. The plant I've previously used currently has a four month waiting period and, while I'm researching other options, I'm still inclined to work with them based on their history and reputation for quality pressings. I'm reluctant to say more regarding a potential public release date, but for my pledgers who've chosen the vinyl option, this is probably going to push fulfillment to late January 2017. CD's and other merchandise should not be affected and I still plan to have these in hand by the end of the year.
As always, I'm grateful for your support and patience.
