WHO I AM
My name is Timo Nuñez. I have shaped my career around Spanish culture through flamenco dance and choreography. I have worked with artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Placido Domingo, Selena Gomez, Cheryl Burke, Luis Fonsi, Clean Bandit, Debbie Allen, Mary Murphy, Carlos Santana, and Stevie Mackey.
Last year I spent my free time writing songs. I created a music act, which is sung in both Spanish and English, that that touches on the movements and rhythms of Flamenco.
With the help of an amazing team of producers, engineers, directors, and choreographers, I am ready to release my first single, and release the music video, shortly after.
WHAT I'M DOING
I’m working on the music video for my first single, Breathe on Me.
As an American-born flamenco dancer, I have always had a strong passion for both Spanish and pop cultures, but both sides of me always felt separate. There is no American male pop singer who dances flamenco.
I decided to combine these two sides of myself and create this song. My vision is to bring the traditions of flamenco to a larger audience through pop music. Breathe on Me, sung in both Spanish and English, is an authentic representation of the two cultures, and the two parts of my artistic self, coming together.
WHY IT'S IMPORTANT
I need your help introducing the fusion of these two cultures to a larger audience. We have already completed our first day of shooting and we are about 30% funded. We still have a lot more to do before we reach our goal, so please help make this vision a reality by donating or sharing this link in order to get this project funded.
I am filming the final scene of the video in Santa Barbara, a community that raised me from a young age. I have taught dance there for fifteen years, and feel a special sense of community that is unique to this town; my first home. There are so many amazing dance schools in the city and it is so special watching them all come together to create art. It would be an honor to capture that essence in this video.
At the filming, we will have a flamenco-inspired flash mob - a celebration of individuality and arte performed by all of you! It will take place Wednesday May 29 at the Sunken Gardens of the historic Santa Barbara Courthouse. I got my start on this same stage when I was a kid, so it feels perfect to bring it back home and include all generations of students, friends, and family to perform in this celebration of culture, music, dance, and community.
WHAT WE NEED
In order to compete this music video, I must cover location and insurance costs, camera and lighting equipment, and most importantly, the artists and crew.
I am grateful for having so many amazing artists involved who believe in this vision. They have been so generous with their time and energy, and it is important to me that I compensate every artist for their involvement in this project.
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT
I have worked with some of the most successful artists in the business, and one thing I've learned, is that NOBODY can create these projects on their own.
Both myself and the entire team for this video need your help. Whether that means making a donation or sharing the link with your friends and family, every little bit helps. I would be honored to have your support.
THE IMPACT OF YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
$25,000 is the minimum we need to raise to complete this video, but we would love to raise even more to bring the video to its true potential and work on more music for the future!
Here's a breakdown of what the different amounts reached will accomplish.
I will be able to afford 10 dancers instead of 2. This creates a fuller and more complete experience.
This will allow for the most ideal clothes to be used for the video. Stylist costs are important and in order the express the art in the way that feels right, we need access to clothes that represent the aesthetic of the vision.
This will allow me to stick to my script so that we can afford a third day of shooting. That is where the more narrative moments of the story should take place.
This will make it so that I can afford to have a person to MC the concert and make sure the crowd stays entertained between shots. We need a sound system, security and someone managing talent release forms, among other things.
This will pay for the production of the next 2 songs to be made. They are already being written, but we need help to record, produce, mix, master.
This will cover the completion of the full album. I would love this to be completed before the fall.
This will cover the completion of the album and 2 more music videos. This would be a dream come true for me if we are able to reach this goal, I am fully ready to work on more music and videos!

If you give it your all with your contribution, I want to give you my all, and there's no better way I can think of doing so than with a performance for you. These can vary from 1-2 solos, all the way up to a full Flamenco show with live musicians!
Risks and challenges
This project is a large collaboration between many artists of many different art forms, and collaboration on this scale can certainly be difficult. Independent productions require a lot of effort from many talented individuals. I always approach all of my projects with the sole mindset of seeing it to completion, and I am ready to lead my team to overcome any challenges we may face.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
